We drove the 10 miles of unpaved road in my little sedan to get to Castle Dome. What a neat ghost town! There are two sections of Castle Dome, one being the ghost town, the other being the mining district. Now I know the buildings of the ghost town are not set up in their original location --rather crammed together in what the owners thought the town would be set up as, but the amount of artifacts in each building is AMAZING. Thousands and thousands of period artifacts, with 70% of them originally found in Castle Dome. The mining district is a 3 mile loop which takes you to several of the mines, buildings and grave sites. We thought the $10/person fee was reasonable. If you love ghost towns, this place is worth the visit to see all the items that were salvaged when the town was abandoned!
