Went there with my girlfriend while we were passing through town. It was informative and fun and the price wasn't so bad. I think that anyone with some extra time while passing through should check it out.

Thank Groenmr

A good place to go if you are in Yuma and have an hour to kill. Information on the history of Yuma and the prison and a nice setting on a bluff overlooking the rivers.

Easy to find close to the Historic District an hour of pleasure reliving the ways of crime and criminals at the end of the 19th century. Not the time to do the crime .............and get caught. Though many real scoundrels (including the women) one has to asked being lock in pitch dark cell for 104 days with no toilet facilities really helped them rehabilitate to a normal life. Or was it not meant to !!

Well worth seeking out and checking out before you check out !!

I saw this prison and think if we still had conditions like this, there would be less trouble in the world. In the summer time it gets 100+ and makes it hard to breathe.
It's a shock that the river was much higher back in the day. There is a lot of great history here and well taken care of. You can go into some of the cells, it gives that strange feeling that someone died in there. They had some 104 peeps die there.
