“Special Night Out”

Outstanding creative menu worth the pricey cost. Excellent service by knowing, caring wait staff that carefully explained the menu items and wine pairings, A place to go back to.

“Still Exceptional”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the state. We come up from Prescott to spend the night at La Posada and dine here. Again, the food was exceptional. We both had the lamb sampler for dinner and it was so good. We would have preferred that the lamb chop be a rib cut instead of the T-bone but the flavors were terrific. The Caesar salad had a great southwestern twist to it. Breakfast here is always different (it's not your typical eggs, omelet and pancakes). We both had the special for the day - beef layered with cheese and tortillas (along with the best black beans) and we weren't disappointed. Our waitress (Valjean) made sure we had coffee to take along for our ride to Sedona. This is some of the best food and service in the state.

“A Real Treat Meal”
Reviewed August 1, 2014

This is a stop you will tell our friends about when you get home (or in todays world... tweet, selfie, food photo or facebook, etc. them.) We have stopped here every time we pass through Winslow, we have never had a bad meal and we get in the car thinking about our return visit. The menu is heavy on Native American spins and flavors, but all are outstanding. I found the Elk Medallions to be a little gamey and tougher for my personal taste, but the presentation and plate fillers were outstanding. My fault for ordering Elk, not theirs. The two guests with us raved over the Prime Rib and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her Chicken breast dish. The lamb meatball (6) appetizers were a delicious experience amply savored by the four of us. We also shared a fluffy chocolate popover type dish that the server opened up and then placed a whipped concoction in the middle and then poured chocolate sauce over the entire dish. It sent us all to heaven. I don't have a record of the name, but I believe it is a standard item on the dessert menu. I could dine here every day, but I'm afraid my cardiologist would fire me. After dinner walk it off enjoyed the museum-like La Posada Hotel lobby or watch the passenger and freight trains out back.

“Excellent but also very expensive dinner.”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

This meal was top notch with service to match. It was expensive but I think you get what you pay for. We enjoyed the meal, a few drinks then a safe walk to our room. The food was very good and service was flawless. We will be sure to make a reservation here if we ever have the opportunity to stay at the La Posada again.

Be sure to make reservations when you book your room if possible. The place filled pretty fast on a Monday night.
