I love that place. It is so unexpected to find it out there in the middle of nowhere.

Great people who spent quite a bit of time showing us the petroglyphs. The only complaint: the wind, which was awful, but what can you do about that?

An unexpected gem of a tour, we will not forget this one. Well worth going out of your way to do. We saw the bison up close, saw a lot of interesting old pottery found on the land over the years, and the rock art and canyon.

It's off the beaten path, and not too well visited (5 other people the day we visited) but WELL worth a visit no matter how far you need to drive. I'm into rock art and petroglyphs and his ranch hosts panels and panels of well preserved art dating back hundreds/thousands of years. Brantley is a complete character as well - and an original "picker" - having picked up barns full of artifacts and western memorabilia over the years. It's a working ranch, so we passed by a dozen or more of the 80ish Buffalo that he owns and runs over his 5000 acres. I'll be back again for sure with more time and more battery for my camera!

We saw a brochure at La Posada and called right away. The owner met us, talked a bit (we assumed to make sure we weren't vandals) and left us with a national treasure. We have been volunteers documenting petroglyphs in New Mexico and had never, ever, seen such quantity and quality. We loaded the cameras' cards and drained the batteries. Eventually we just walked and marveled - among other things the apparent range of styles hinting at a wide range of ages. From a technical point of view, some were so covered by rock varnish that they were only a subtle and challenging black-on-black pattern. Returning to Santa Fe we found it was well known among knowledgable amateurs and petroglyph professionals - but, we noticed, not advertised. Physically, this is a deep-cut stream bed; walk along the stream for petroglyphs on both sides. Eventually, the stream filled the entire bottom. The owner had mentioned swimming, but we weren't up for that. Only one warning - take insect repellent.
