We stayed three nights in a suite (two rooms), Sept 5,6, and 7.

- Spacious, clean, soundproof rooms with numerous room amenities.
- Excellent hotel and restaurant staff.
- Excellent location for tour base

After looking around Williams at the other private and franchise hotels/motels, I cringe to think of staying anywhere but the Holiday Inn in Williams. There are possibly one or two other hotels as nice as this one, but they are not as close to Williams as we are.

Thank you, Holiday Inn; Jim, Anna, and Butch.

Think you have to review hotels based on the * rating, rather than what you want it to be. Therefore as a 3*+ we gave it 4 points.

Staff are fine and good for info. Gas/petrol is very expensive in the town, but front desk told us where to buy it 50 cents cheaper per gallon.

Rooms and bed are good for a stop over, or to head back to after going to either Grand Canyon or Monument valley, if you are heading to LV next. If going to Scottsdale, etc, maybe staff in Flagstaff.

Did'nt eat here. but plenty did, and it looked fine. Overall, good hotel as a base, but not one to stay in if you expect 4/5* services etc.

If you don't want to pay a premium for staying near the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park, this hotel will do just fine. It's just off Interstate 40 near Route 64, which is a straight 50-mile drive to the Canyon. The drive is quick and low traffic, so there's no trouble going back and forth in a day. Otherwise, the hotel is nothing special. Rooms could use updates, but were generally clean and comfortable enough for a night's sleep. Don't bother with the overpriced steakhouse in the hotel either -- there are enough cheaper, better alternatives in the main part of the town, about a 3 minute drive away.

Hotel front desk was friendly. Room was ok. Clean but well used. King bed was not comfortable, get in and you sank down or rolled to the middle. Old small TV, no convenient electrical outlet at desk, no reading lamp at chair. Expensive breakfast.

As a Priority Club member I was dissapointed with this Holiday Inn. Prefer Holiday Inn Express & Suites.

Only there for two nights. Room was clean and nice. BUT the rest of the place is a little dirty. NOT like most of the other Holiday Inn's I've stayed.
They allow pets which is why the place is dirty.
Easy to reach from the 40 fwy.
About a one hour drive to Grand Canyon park.

Room Tip: If U need fast and a quiet place to sleep....... this will do.

Pros: Clean, within an hour of Grand Canyon, easy to find and friendly staff.
Cons: Old and in need of a renovation.
However, for the price it is a great deal for one seeking a deal and a clean bed while visiting the Grand Canyon. We were prepared for the brown water based on previous reviews - that was not a problem. The staff provided us with water bottles for brushing our teeth and coupons for free drinks in the bar. We were in a two room/three bed suite that had mixed reviews ... no problem at all. This is a Holiday Inn and for a Holiday Inn it is fine. The laundry room was out of service and the pool had an odd smell - we didn't plan to use either so it was not a problem.

We stayed on the second floor. There were no elevators so had to lug heavy luggage up the stairs. The hallway smelled so strongly of air freshner that it almost made you gag. The water was yellow and undrinkable. Even the water in the toilet made the toilet yellow.
