The good things about this motel: After hours on the road, it was great to see a happy smiling face at the front desk. Cindy at evening check in was very friendly, helpful and eager to please. She was extremely thorough, explaining everything to us in detail, breakfast, wifi, pool hours, exact distance to the town center, things to do in town, (cowboy shootout, zipline, hiking trail, etc) plus giving us coupons for the restaurants in town. Cindy explained everything about the National Park and with such enthusiasm that we did not feel as though we were bothering her. She was so pleasant to talk with, we invited her to come along with us to the Grand Canyon the following day as our unofficial guide. Unfortunately she had to work. Our room was nice, comfortable and had everything we needed.
The bad things about this motel: The employee's children are allowed to come to work with their parents and run amok through the hotel and breakfast area. I have never seen anything like this before. In fact I didn't think Super 8 allowed housekeepers to bring their underage children to their job with them. As we tried to fix toast for breakfast, 2 small boys were fixing toast for themselves, taking up all the counter space, acting silly. ONE OF THEM STUCK HIS FINGER INTO AN OPEN JAR OF PEANUT BUTTER! I lost my appetite and we just decided to take coffee back to the room. I know one of the kids belonged to a maid because I saw him with her when she was cleaning a room. Even guests don't allow their children to do this, so I cant imagine why the owner of this motel would think it was okay! The other boy went behind the counter so I assume his parent works there. Bringing your small children to work and allowing them to cause a ruckus is very unprofessional and low class. There was a 100% difference between our check-in by sweet Cindy, and the breakfast mayhem by employees wild children.
