We stayed at the Howard Johnson because it was the best price hotel for being part of a major chain. Nestled just between historic route 66 and I-40, this Hotel is prime location for Grand Canyon Adventure-Goers. It's only about an hour south of the canyon and very convenient to shops, food, gas, and also walking distance to the historic part of town on 66.
The bedroom was very clean and the air conditioning worked very well. There was even a mini fridge in the room free to use. The flat screen TV was very modern and clear.
We got a hotel room that we were expecting and were completely satisfied. Please note The restroom was a bit small and the walls were kind of thin so you could hear echoes of conversations coming from next door. The a/c unit had a nice smooth sound that was able to drown out any sound waves so sleeping was a dream.
The beds were very new and comfortable. Between three hotels on our road trip, this bed was the best.
Getting into the building entrance required your guest room key at all times no matter what time of day. We felt very safe. The Complimentary Continental Breakfast was awesome with fresh made waffles, cereals, coffee, orange juice, and pastries.
Everyone from Front desk agents to Housekeeping were very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.
