We chose Williams, AZ for lodging during our visit to the Grand Canyon. Our stay at the Highlander Motel was great and the service was truly wonderful. We stayed for two nights choosing the Highlander based on its fair prices, location, and good reviews. The room was clean, comfortable, and ideal for us. Cable, coffee and air conditioning were great after a long day of hiking. The motel owners were extremely friendly and are genuinely devoted to providing hospitality. They gave legitimately good recommendations for dining and day trips, and offered beverages and pastries each morning. The motel is walking distance to everything in town, and is centrally located for the Grand Canyon's South Rim and surrounding towns/sights. Would definitely recommend the Highlander Motel--this is a gem in Williams, AZ.

We are not the type of people who stay in fancy hotels. The Highlander was clean and nicely decorated. Vince was friendly and helpful. But the beds even though in newly remodeled room were not very comfortable. Since the curtains did not cover the window completely,The room was never dark which made it difficult to sleep. We did enjoy visiting Williams. Cute little town. on the way to Grand Canyon.

When we first drove into the parking lot, we had doubts about our decision to reserve here but reminded ourselves that this was a "motel" rather than our customary choice of a higher end hotel. After being greeted by the proprietor, who had remained on site to greet us even though the office was closed, our doubts quickly dissipated. He was pleasant and quite confident we would enjoy our stay, handing us bottles of juice and some snacks for our room. What a wonderful surprise when we opened our door. This motel is probably the cleanest older property we have ever encountered. Our room was immaculate and showed definite signs of TLC. All the painted surfaces were perfect; no smudges or spills; flooring and tub surround were nicely done. We had a well-equipped kitchenette with microwave, fridge, coffeemaker and good selection of coffees and teas. There was also a desk and comfy easy chair. The owner is friendly and very helpful and eager to make this property desirable, as he explained the renovations he had been doing over the past 18 months and continues to do. We were here for just one night and left for the Grand Canyon early the next morning as this was a quick weekend visit with friends from Michigan. We intend to return to The Highlander (we live in Phoenix) when we can to stay a bit longer to explore the Williams area in more detail.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the newly renovated rooms. They are "theme-décor"; a little unusual maybe, but fun plus they are absolutely spotlessly clean.

Vince on the front desk was really friendly and helpful. The rooms are great, we had a refurbished on with laminate flooring, 2 double beds and a little kitchen area.

Very clean, nicely decorated, well equipped.

All restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Grand Canyon entrance a few miles away so a great option to help reduce accommodation fees of staying in the park as you can drive I early morning.

Room Tip: A great choice.

Came upon the motel online while on a road trip cross country. The reviews, price and location was intriguing. Made reservations and found Williams, Az and Motel with ease. The owner Alan has made hospitality his priority. The rooms were very clean and updated. Just a side note... The town of Williams closes their doors early for those who like a late dinner.. My suggestion is to go to the grocery store down the street if you plan on coming back from your sightseeing beforehand. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave. I will for sure come back!
