“This motel scared me”
Reviewed January 17, 2006

The motel looked decent from the outside, but once we went into the room, it got bad. The room was generally clean, but it looked VERY worn out. The beds were clean, but the floors were stained and the carpet had chunks cut out (probably to remote stains). The bathroom was even worse. The toilet barely worked, and the shower looked like it had been built in 1955. The tile was grimy, the grout was filthy and the tiles on the outside were cracked and falling out. The steel fixtures in the bathroom were rusty as well. To top that all off, the TV didn't work. The only redeeming aspect of this place was that the internet was free and fast.

No doubt it is the worst hotel I have ever seen. The whole place was worn-out and the stair was a bit shaky. In our room, the carpet was stained, the bathroom was filthy, and the whole room had a strange odor. Thermostate did not work either. Finally I figured out why there was such an odor. The owner or manager seemed like a guy from India, and even the office (not even a lobby) had a curry-like smell. This guy was almost close to rude and tried to get every bit of detail about our trip regardless of any privacy. We were asked where we drove from, what we would do for the stay, where we would go after the stay and the plate number of our car! The so-called breakfast was only a couple of donuts and coffee without any flavor. Expedia gave it a 2-star, but to me it does not even worth a 1/2. No more Econo Lodge for me, never ever!

This is an excellent budget hotel. We knew we were arriving late and leaving early so just needed a place to crash. Rolled in at 11:30 at night; lobby door was locked and lights out, but hit the buzzer and a man immediately answered. This gentleman was very professional and polite--a rarity these days. Also, the next morning, he was active in supervising the people cleaning the rooms; a hands-on management style that really shows results.

The room was just fine. My only complaint can't really be blamed on the hotel--it was very cold that evening, maybe down into the 20's, and the bathroom had a cold tile floor. Slippers would have been nice. But it was a huge bathroom!

Breakfast was doughnuts, coffee, tea and orange juice. Can't expect any more for around $40 a night, and this definitely was a great budget place to stay. Highly recommended.

I've stayed there for one night and it was okay. Room wasn't too big but clean. Air-conditionning was old and loud. Price for room was acceptable.

I stayed at the Econo Lodge with my husband for 1 night in august.
The motel is old but my corner room on the 2 floor was nice sized and very clean. The desk staff was friendly. Across the street there is the Rod's steackhouse, the best restaurant in town.

This hotel is spartan. The desk staff is extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast consisted of donuts, coffee and orange juice only. The hotel is quite old and the bathroom is very modest with low cost fixtures. The water temperature and pressure changes often and sometimes dramatically. The hotel is located on Route 66 and is in the middle of a nice shopping and dining area - everything is in short walking distance and the traffic is very light. Great jumping off point for the Grand Canyon at a very affordable price. Other hotels in town seem very comparable
