“What a great locally owned classic Route 66 experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013 via mobile

First off I stayed here in the rv park side but my in-laws stayed in the motel . When you drive in you are greeted by rail cars converted to sleeping rooms, sweet for us railroad enthusiasts! Then you go to register and walk into one of the best stocked gift shops for Route 66 and Grand Canyon swag ever . That's when one of the nice owners greet you and make you feel very welcome . Staying here actually makes you feel like your money is making a difference here .

The rooms were tidy and cozy. So much better than a sterile chain hotel for sure.

The location is on the edge of town and removed from the hustle and bustle. It is about a mile to town and can be walked on a small low speed limit road .

Give these guys a try before handing your money over to a large corporation you won't be sorry.

Will write a review for the rv park side on rvparkreview dot com . It is a good park.

We actually stumbled upon this place while driving from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon into Williams. We came in pretty late, around 9pm, but the office was still open, so no problems there.
There were still plenty of sites available since there are 47 of them, so we were quickly and friendly checked in and bestowed with a lot of useful information about the charming town of williams.
Then we got our RV hooked up and settled down for the night.
In the morning the weather was great and the restrooms and showers were clean an refreshing. All around a very pleansent place to go through your morning routine compared to many other RV Parks.
We luckily took the advice of the friendly woman in the office and went for a walk into williams, located on the historic Route 66. A lovely town with plenty to see and a certain charm.

In the end we left williams well rested and with a lot of new impressions.

Room Tip: There are some very nice old railway cars which were converted into rooms, i'd like to stay in o...

We loved it ! We stayed in a converted sleeping car (train) It had a cute patio that had chairs which you could see wandering deer and a spring that also runs along it, the sleeping car had a queen size bed for us and it the back of the train it had queen size bunk beds and a tv (with cable for the Kids) and they could look outside the top windows and see outside which they loved. We are going to come back when Bear Country in williams opens to tour that too, its right down the road. The Kids loved it and so did we!

The Canyon Motel and RV Park… Great place! My wife and I own an RV Park back in Pennsylvania and we are on a 3 month tour around the country. When we travel, we rely on a “camping book” to help determine where to stay. (You know how that goes a lot of times!!!) So when we got to Williams, AZ and pulled into The Canyon Motel and RV Park, we were pleasantly relieved and surprised. This park is as great as the town of Williams. We were in the area for a little over a week and during that time we checked out the other parks in town. I highly recommend you stay at this one.
In short, here are some reasons: *It’s located at the edge of town; *Quite and yet you can hear the train in the distance; *Spacious sites; *Clean – Clean – Clean; *Unique! I love the train cars that are remodeled into rooms. If you have your own RV and want to rendezvous with people who don’t have an RV, this would definitely be the place to stay;
*Indoor pool and spa I am not sure of because we were there in November and it was closed for the season. However, I looked through the windows and it seems as nice as the rest of the park;
*Last but not least… The office staff and maintenance staff are great. Accommodating and courteous to say the least.

In Summary, this park is not only unique with its theme and layout; it is one of the cleanest we have stayed in and is well located. I don’t remember what the “camping book” gives them for a grade but I will give them a 10-10-10.

We chose this place because of it's uniqueness. We liked the idea of sleeping in a train car and also encouraging a local «mom & pop» operation in the little town of Williams. We were not disappointed. It's nothing fancy, but it's fun! Great service upon arrival and the room though small (we knew that in advance) was perfect for us. The TV was quite ancient and we never did find a remote but reception was clear and there was, a fridge and a coffee pot (can't remember if there was a microwave). We had a toilet, shower and sink all separate from one another, but that was fine. They also offer free wifi which is more than I can say for the fancier hotel we stayed at in Phoenix. The only downsides I can think of is that the bed was a little lumpy and the pillows definately left a lot to be desired but I am quite fussy about my pillows. It was a fun night on Rte 66 that we will hold in our memories for a long time!

We stayed here for 2 nights in late September.
We chose one of the three rooms in the converted train carriage,
It was surprisingly roomy inside with good facilities including shower, toilet and kitchen area.
We were very comfortable and there was no noise ( although the next room was unoccupied during our stay ).
So try something different and have fun.
For those with a child or two in tow the two cabooses on site offer really fun accommodation.
There are also a number of cabins and lots of space for RV's.
Friendly and helpful owners and their site is set in lovely countryside just a mile outside the route 66 town of Williams with numerous restaurants.
Recomended.

This is an old style cabin type motel (it is also a rv park), it shows it's age but it is very cosy ...
Each of the 6 cabins is composed of 3 rooms and our room was very comfortable.
There are also 3 train wagons/cabooses that have been converted to lodging and seems fun but as they are only one bed, I couldn't try.Those have also an outdoor patio.
Check in was very welcoming ! Do not hesitate to give it a try !
