went to williams to do the polar express thing with the whole family and my sister's whole family. she booked the whole trip so i had no clue about the hotel before hand. on the outside the lodge on route 66 looked like a run down motel--but it fit right in with the whole rustic route 66 scenery. we got 3 rooms. 2 basic ones for parents and a suite for the grandparents and kids to stay in. the basic room was tiny and no frills. the bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. the heater worked great.

the suite was actually pretty nice. it had a table large enough to play cards on, and a small kitchenette. the living room area had a fold out sofa and it was very comfortable. the lodge is great for what it was. this isn't a luxury 5 star hotel with spa, gym, and business center. this is a nice comfortable place where you can get a good night's sleep and enjoy the rest of what williams, az has to offer. there's plenty to do for a few days with the grand canyon and the train rides nearby.

overall our whole family enjoyed our stay there. we had no issues and no complaints.

We thought this would be a great stay (after reading all the wonderful reviews) before heading to the Grand Canyon. We loved the size of the town and eating at Twisters for their hamburgers and ice cream! We had a very relaxing and fun stay with our two teenagers sitting out in the rocking chairs, playing cards and watching the cars drive by late into the evening.
We would definitely stay again and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay before going to the Grand Canyon. We also loved staying at the El Tovar in the Canyon during our trip!

We sated at the lodge after a hectic day at the Grand Canyon. Man was it a great decision! The rooms were tastefully decorated and super clean. Felt like an apartment. We had a king suite and had a great time relaxing. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was remodeled. The room had more towels in it than I've seen anywhere else - they sure aren't stingy with them! The temperature of the room was also easy to control. The air-conditioning unit was brand new and worked great. We will return to The Lodge again!

Just wanted to thank Carol, Rob, and Audrey for their great customer service! They even went and purchased a coffee pot for our dad for his room, so he could enjoy his early morning coffee. The stay was enjoyable and it was because of these wonderful people who manage the lodge. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Thank you so much!

Stayed there in July of 2010. Very nice, very cute, best hotel I'd seen on Route 66. Rooms are more suited to a mountain resort than a Route 66 hotel. Ours was very nice with great appointments and a very large bathroom.

This is the Four Seasons of Route 66 motels!

We were assigned an handicap room for whatever reason. Room would have been a little difficult for someone in a wheel chair, but overall we had a great stay. \

Hotel is in easy walking distance of nearly everything you want to see. Great restaurants and shops.

The room was clean, very nicely furnished. Owners and staff were great.

Breakfast was basic but served in a nice gazebo area with fireplaces and heaters. Great place to hang out in the cool mornings, or even sit in the evenings.

Overall It was a great place to stay.

We booked our stay at the Lodge in advance and when we rolled down Route 66 into Williams Arizona and checked into The Lodge, we were extremely pleased. This hotel and our room far exceeded our expectations! The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was outstanding. We had Room 19, the Chicago Room which was on the corner of the hotel right on Route 66. We had a nice view of the street and enjoyed our stay there. The room was very nice and had been remodeled and upgraded with many nice features and furniture. The hotel is centrally located on main street in Williams and everything in town was within walking distance. There are plenty of nice restaurants and bars to choose from very close by. We stayed two days and one day went out and explored the Grand Canyon. The neatest part of staying in Williams in addition to the town being a piece of Americana from the 50's, they have a gun fight / skit held on main street every night that was really fun to see. Two Thumbs Up for The Lodge and Williams Arizona.
