Stayed at the Motel 6 on route 66, for one night, the staff who gave us our room was very nice. We couldn't check in so we ventured to the indoor pool, the reason why we stayed at this Motel. We quickly realized that pictures are not as they seem and we had made a mistake. The room was a Motel 6 room, below average, just enought to get by, bed was clean thank goodness. The shower felt that it was going to fall thru the floor and the towels were just big enough to cover one side of my body(I'm not a large person). The air conditioner was ice or off and noisy. If your looking for a good price, this is it but not for the atmosphere.

We arrived late and left early so didn't spend that much time in the hotel. But the Room was clean and beds comfortable.

Good location for visiting the Grand Canyon, about an hour drive with no traffic.

Would recommend as hotels closer to National park is a lot more expensive.

This Motel 6 was a nice surprise. The rooms were surprisingly large and roomy and included a table and chairs. Queen-sized beds. A bathroom with a tub. It was very clean. It had the usual Motel 6 downsides - skimpy towels, no clock radio, walls a bit thin, mattress a bit spartan. The internet access was intermittent but when we called the provider (information is on a placard in the room), the problem was resolved. The desk staff were courteous and friendly. There was an indoor heated pool and hot tub - small but adequate. There was also a nice area off the lobby with tables, chairs, a toaster and microwave where you could sit and have breakfast (complimentary coffee was provided). The motel is located right next to a Safeway supermarket with a Starbucks inside so you could get breakfast provisions if you didn't want to eat out. The property is located on the west end of Rte 66 and was within short walking distance of downtown Williams which was unexpectedly charming. We were staying there as a jumping off point to the Grand Canyon (about an hour's drive away) but Williams itself turned out to be a nice plus. The hotel areas just outside the park seemed a bit sterile in comparison.

The road to the Grand Canyon was closed because of snow so we had to stay here in Williams. The price of the room was reasonable for a no-frills roadside motel but would have gladly paid more if I had known what awaited us. The room was freezing despite having the heat on full blast all night. The room also smelled very musty and the front-desk just said that there was nothing they could do. Despite guarantees that the TV would be working, the satellite TV never worked despite trying to contact the front desk.

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights while checking out the Grand Canyon and the Polar Express. The room was a bit bigger than I expected, which is nice to be able to spread out with a family of 4, and they had a bathtub in the bathroom - very good when you have small children who still take baths (and not normal for Motel 6 from what I've seen).

The 2 chief complaints I had were that they advertise wireless internet -- our room was on the 2nd floor, directly over the lobby, yet we barely had a signal and then it just went out altogether the 2nd day and never worked again. I called the front desk and she said "I can reset it but that's all I can do" -- didn't work. I didn't push the issue as it may have been with the provider...but she wasn't very friendly.

Then, after our first night, the key stopped working. I checked with the front desk (same lady), I said something like "maybe the guy who checked us in accidentally set them to expire today instead of tomorrow" and she snapped back, "Well I didn't do your keys so it's not my fault" and seemed very agitated. Very bizarre. She re-coded the keys and that was that.

In the end, I'd still recommend it as the Railway hotel is crazy expensive and of course the Grand Canyon hotels are very pricey too. It's right at the beginning of the main drag in Williams so close to the diners and shops. The pool was very crowded so we didn't try to use it. Very good value overall.

We were so tired when we arrived in Williams that we checkied into the first motel we came across. I have stayed in Motel 6 before and it has always been pretty dire! This motel however was clean with friendly helpful staff and a grat price-less than $50. it's not luxurious but it would do for a night!

The Motel 6 West in Williams is an excellent, economical choice for a rest stop when visiting Grand Canyon. The front desk staff was efficient, and the room was clean, sparse but meeting our needs. A Safeway right down the street was awesome for buying hiking supplies, filling out our picnic needs, and picking up that early morning Starbucks before heading out. The location on Route 66 is great, too. Toward the end of the strip, we walked almost the entire length the night we arrived, stretching our legs and getting acclimated to the higher altitude. If you're visiting Grand Canyon and don't want to stay in the park, this could be an affordable and convenient option. It took us a little over an hour to drive from this spot. I highly recommend this hotel.
