“Beware of owner”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

I was warned that you often need a reservation, but had no warning that the owners would act as they did. When calling I asked if 8PM would be OK, and they said fine, and asked what we would likely order to be sure they had some for us.

The place is a hole in the wall on a side street that was very difficult to find with no sign or light you could see from the main street - just a sign on the door. The result is that we arrived a half hour late, and were greeted by a woman who said "we ran of food and are closed. Are you the 8PM party?" I said yes. "Thanks for being on time. We sold your food to someone else."

??????? So I guess if we had found it on time, we'd be rushed out the door by 8:30 - at best.

The one compensation is that - looking in - its the kinds of greasy spoon place I would normally avoid if I expected to stay healthy. WHEN we finally found it, my initial reaction was one of trepidation. So, perhaps everything worked out for the best.

Ah yes. We remember you both well. 1/2 hour late for your reservation, no phone call to tell us you were running late. The words you remember me saying are not quite accurate. What I did say was, "I'm sorry but we are sold out." And you said, "Thanks alot. We have reservations." And my reply was, "Thanks a lot for being on time." Close, but not quite. When you make reservations with ANY number one restaurant, we would encourage you to keep your appointment or call if you're going to be late. Or, call for directions. The reason all our restaurant lights were out was because we were sold out of food and closed. Had you called and told us you were going to be late we would have held the food and stayed open until you could get here. But as you said, perhaps this all worked out for the best.

“Went back for an encore!”
Reviewed April 18, 2014 via mobile

If you're looking for a simple but delicious BBQ place this is the restaurant for you! Owned by a sweet husband and wife, the food is literally falling off the bone! Great mom & pop locale....open only Friday thru Sunday but worth the trip!

Wow, what an awesome review! Thanks for coming back to eat with us again and hope you'll stop by again whenever you're in town. And thank you for reminding everyone in your review that we're only open on weekends. Reservations are a must anymore as we turn away 50-100 people a day who haven't made reservations. God bless you and your travels, Love Kathi & Kevin

“Great Cookin' and Great Atmosphere!”
Reviewed April 11, 2014

We loved the Singing Pig. The food was unbelievable. We had both ordered 1/2 rack of ribs and then realized we wanted more, so we ordered another 1/2 rack. MMmmmmmm! The first night we stopped by without reservations and they were already full. So we made reservations for the next night and were so glad we did. Kevin (with his blue beard) was busy cooking away and Kathy (with her ever present exuberance) seated us. The eating area of the Singing Pig is very small, but they have worked out some sort of arrangement to use tables at the back of the Sultana bar. The area is separated from the actual bar and there were lots of families enjoying Kevin's fabulous cooking and kids playing beanbag toss games, etc. It was a really family affair indeed. We talked about the ambience of the Singing Pig and though Kevin's cooking is absolutely fabulous, Kathy is responsible for the very warm ambience of the place. She introduces people sitting down near you and HER friendliness encourages you to chat with each other. We sat with a family from Spain and later on a family from England joined us. Everyone talking travel and licking their fingers to get every last drop of Kevin's sauce. We LOVED the Singing Pig.

“This one gets 5 stars....”
Reviewed April 8, 2014 via mobile

Kevin has improved consistency of everything on the menu and I just love it!

I have personally tried everything on the menu, right down to the "pig balls".

Only open on the weekends is one downer, advanced reservations are suggested by the owners as I learned the hard way that they do run out of food if you don't call ahead.

Great food, very friendly owners, prices are a little high but it's a tourist town and pretty much seasonal. With that said, the food is worth the price, and the service is just the icing on the pig.

“Grand Canyon Trip”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

After a day at the canyon we decided to try some BBQ at the Pig. Best decision of the trip! Our family tried a variety of items and found them all wonderful. The service was very personable but be careful of the Burn Your Azz sauce. It was HOT! You gotta try this place if you ever stop in Williams!

Thank you Phillip. Come see us again when you can. Kathi & Kevin PS, you're right - that BYA sauce is atomic!
