I was warned that you often need a reservation, but had no warning that the owners would act as they did. When calling I asked if 8PM would be OK, and they said fine, and asked what we would likely order to be sure they had some for us.
The place is a hole in the wall on a side street that was very difficult to find with no sign or light you could see from the main street - just a sign on the door. The result is that we arrived a half hour late, and were greeted by a woman who said "we ran of food and are closed. Are you the 8PM party?" I said yes. "Thanks for being on time. We sold your food to someone else."
??????? So I guess if we had found it on time, we'd be rushed out the door by 8:30 - at best.
The one compensation is that - looking in - its the kinds of greasy spoon place I would normally avoid if I expected to stay healthy. WHEN we finally found it, my initial reaction was one of trepidation. So, perhaps everything worked out for the best.
