“Polar Express 2013”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

Enjoyed our package deal to Williams, Az. 1 night hotel, dinner, polar express tickets and breakfast. The grandkids love the Polar Express. This is our 3rd year and not disappointed with the deal. We had great people working on our train compartment. Buddy, the Elf, really was excited and got the kids really into the singing and seeing Santa. The Santa is the best. We had him two years in a row, he is the nicest Santa ever. Elf Chris or Christine, the kids remembered her from last year because she loved to talk with them. They ran up to her when they saw her and gave her a big hug. The restaurant needs a bit more dinner food for kids other than mac n cheese, chicken tenders and mini corn dogs. Breakfast was really good. Next year, instead of driving we just might take the train into Williams...it is a long road trip getting there. My grandkids were more excited about going there than their vacation to Hawaii. A must do...parents, grandparents.

This is the second time we booked the train and hotel for the Polar Express Experience. Just like the movie you leave your hotel at night wearing pajamas and walk across the parking lot to the Williams Depot Train Station. Here you depart on a 90 minute journey to the North Pole. Everything is authentic just like the movie. From the ticket conductor to the Chef's singing and serving you cookies & milk. You go through the time tunnel and arrive at the North Pole. The children all see Santa's Village. Santa boards the train and greets each of the children with a bell. We sing songs and celebrate all the way back to Williams Depot. Amazing experience!

Right across from the Grand Canyon Hotel. So very convenient!

It has a nice gift shop and the Wild West Show before boarding the train is a must see for kids of all ages!

“Gateway to the Grand Canyon”

This is where you get the train to the Grand Canyon. We stayed in the company's hotel. It was a decent stay. The included meals were in the dining room and very crowded and noisy. I would probably investigate other options before I stayed here again. The train ride is great, though.

“Portal to the Grand Canyon”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

Williams AZ is a quaint mountain town on historic route 66, 62 miles from the Grand Canyon. For those who want a no hassle trip to the canyon, a trip on the Canyon railroad is the way to go. There are many options you can choose from basic ride to having a special meal on board and arranging for bus or hiking tours once you arrive at the Grand Canyon. The gift shop has a good variety of merchandise and the prices are quite reasonable. The town has several motels/ hotels for visitors and restaurants range from local favorites to chain establishments. There are a number of gift shops in town having other than railroad souvenirs.
