This is where you get the train to the Grand Canyon. We stayed in the company's hotel. It was a decent stay. The included meals were in the dining room and very crowded and noisy. I would probably investigate other options before I stayed here again. The train ride is great, though.

Williams AZ is a quaint mountain town on historic route 66, 62 miles from the Grand Canyon. For those who want a no hassle trip to the canyon, a trip on the Canyon railroad is the way to go. There are many options you can choose from basic ride to having a special meal on board and arranging for bus or hiking tours once you arrive at the Grand Canyon. The gift shop has a good variety of merchandise and the prices are quite reasonable. The town has several motels/ hotels for visitors and restaurants range from local favorites to chain establishments. There are a number of gift shops in town having other than railroad souvenirs.

The Williams Train Depot has added more to the gift shop since we took the train ride to Grand Canyon about 15 years ago. We really enjoyed ourselves with our grand and great grand children on the Punpkin Train Ride.

Make time to visit the Williams Depot. It is a fully operational train depot with ticket agents and the charm of early 1900s. It also has a wonderful souvenirs that you won't find anywhere else. There is a great variety of railway postcards, and a special room dedicated to children souvenirs at reasonable price. Take a few moments in the Williams Depot. It will be worth your time.

The gift shop had all types of things to purchase. Friendly staff. Things were not overly priced also in walking distance of the hotel. On the same property.
