The entire thing was awesome. Great tour attendants, great views, great cowboys. Enjoyed everything while on the tour.

Anniversary celebration

Got the two night tour package and highly recommend it. Hotel was above average, all inclusive food really good at the Harvey restaurant, and the train tour was really fun.

Disappointing and not a great way to get to the Grand Canyon
Review of: Grand Canyon Railway Train Tickets

Basically, this was a dull train ride from Williams to the Grand Canyon, with a mediocre attempt to keep us entertained. The scenery was uninteresting. The guitar player was very good, but the fiddle player needs to work on his act... a lot. The cost was high and I would have much preferred to spend my money elsewhere.

On the other hand, Mark, our guide, was fabulous. He obviously put a lot of time and energy into finding unique and interesting information to impart. I especially loved the story about the camels. He was also very kind and helpful.

Worth the extra money.

I decide to go in the vista dome cre for the extra service. The seating is varied and very comfortable with many options There was staff to answer question and serve you beverages. They also offered snacks. You could sit in 2 different levelswith more luxurious seating. The vista dome provided much better viewing of the scenery. I would recommend if your going to take the train go for the Vista Dome. There are two levels of cost and luxury. I felt it was well worth the extra cost.

Great way to spend the day and see the Grand Canyon
Review of: Grand Canyon Railway Train Tickets

The Grand Canyon Railroad leaves from Williams and takes about 2 hours to travel to the South Rim. The train is comfortable and the staff is very hospitable. April was the host in our car and did a great job. Starts with and old west gun fight. On the way back, bad guys try to rob the train but the sheriff saves the day.
We added on the bus tour which will take you to three different places to see the Canyon. If you just want to see the Canyon but dont plan to hike, this is the way to do it.
