“Grand Cayon Railroad nice way to see the canyon”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

The train leaves at 9:30 AM, but before you leave there is a fun old western shoot out at 9:00. This was my first experenice riding a train. We took the coach car which I thought was very comfortable with lots of room in between seats. Water is provided on the train and was nice and cold. We had a great time. We had my four year old nephew with us and he was entertained the whole time. The trip to the canyon takes about 2.5 hours. They have old western singers that keep you entertained. On the way back there was a old fashioned train robbery. My nephew was a little scared, but we kept telling him it was just for fun. The train staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful day and a great way to see the Gran Canyon. The trip was well worth the money.

“Great”
Reviewed June 4, 2013 via mobile

The entire staff from hotel check in to the restaurant staff, cowboy actors to the train personal went out of their way to be polite and hospital. Would highly recommend.

“Excellent way to see the Canyon”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

Several of our friends have taken this trip on the train and loved it, so we decided to give it a go. We booked the dome and were very happy with the choice. On the way up in the morning they serve coffee, juice, pastries and muffins. On the way back they have cheese, crackers, veggies and dip, plus soda and lemonade. There is also a champagne toast on the way back. The trip was very smooth and our hostess, Sandy, was excellent. She made sure everyone was comfortable and happy.
The Canyon, well what can you say about this gorgeous site! We were a little concerned whether we would have enough time to explore before the train headed back to Williams. Unless you want to hike to the bottom of the canyon, the allotted time was plenty. We even took the time to have an appetizer and drink on the porch at El Tovar.
All in all, we highly recommend this trip for anyone wanting to get to the Canyon without driving there.

“More than we expected”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

We weren't expecting much. We were very impressed upon our arrival. Check in was a breeze. The grounds were very well kept and clean. We weren't really sure about going to the dinner buffet that was included in our package but decided to go, and must say we were pleasantly surprised with the selection. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends.

“Don't pay extra for dome class”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

We decided to go on the Grand Canyon train from Williams rather than drive ourselves. My friend wanted to go first-class as she said you get free coffee. Paying double the coach class price, just how 'free' was the coffee? When we went to book we were talked into paying a further $30 for the dome. They said we'd have a 360 degree view of the scenery. The scenery was boring scrubland and definitely not worth paying to see.

On our way up we had a wonderful hostess whose name I don't recall. She was sweet, funny and welcoming. We had a totally indifferent hostess on our way back.

Overall, it was ok, but I don't recommend paying more than double coach class for so few extras.

The cowboy 'shootout' before we started out was fun, as was the 'train robbery' on the way back.
