We made our reservations 2 days before our arrival so we were relieved just to get a room at the Red Feather Lodge (motel side). Cost was $150 for 3 of us (2 Queen beds). We stayed two nights and our experience was very satisfactory. Big room, big TV, nice bathroom and shower. (But teeny little toilet - as mentioned by another reviewer - which was low to the floor and clogged easily.) The air conditioner was good to have as it was really hot in August.
The location is just a few minutes from the Grand Canyon Park entrance kiosk. It made it easy to come and go from the park. For instance we woke up very early and drove to the rim to be there for the sunrise. Then we drove out again and ate a very good buffet breakfast next door at Plaza Bonita where we got a 10% discount with our hotel key. Then back to the Grand Canyon rim for a hike. It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room, but aside from that we were very pleased with the beds, the quiet room, friendly reception, parking, and of course location location location.
