You have to see this Imax movie. It's an awesome history of the Grand Canyon and like all Imax movies, it's like you flying over the Grand Canyon, then riding the rapids in a boat. Sit in the upper rows and in the middle for the best view.

We arrived in the area around dinner time and decided to wait to go into the national park until morning. Our hotel recommended that we see the film. While the acting is not going to win any awards, the views of the canyon were breath taking - how cool to feel like you were flying over this amazing expanse! It was also very interesting to learn about the history of the area and really enhanced our appreciation for the first explorers. The film is not long - only about 35 minutes, but just the perfect length to prepare yourself for the incredible vistas down the road.

Thank you for your comments, they are a very accurate description of the film. The canyon is so vast it is difficult to take in all at once. The movie will help give a better sense of what you are looking at by seeing it before entering the park.
Respectfully,
Janet

The canyon flying and the Powell exploration recreation scenes were the best and looked incredible on the IMAX screen. However, the whole film was a little too short (34 mins) to warrant paying 30 dollars for two tickets. I also got a little tired of the 'mankind is hovering at the edge of eternity' - style commentary towards the end...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of the film. Time seems to be a factor in the majority of the people coming to experience the Grand Canyon. The movie helps to introduce the canyon and it's many aspects in a relatively short amount of time.
Best regards,
Janet

One of my favorite Imax films! And what a great place to see it - at the Grand Canyon. There is a $2 coupon at the RP Stage Stop cafe next door, along with great sandwiches and coffee. The Imax gift shop is very pricey but has a big selection. There is a good deal if you see the movie on buying the GC movie - $10 off.

I'm sorry you were disappointed in the movie. Many scenes could no longer be recreated due to increased government regulations and cost restraints. I thank you for taking the time to send your comments, much appreciated.
Best regards,
Janet
