I’m a higher end traveler so price/experience wise this was lower than my normal accommodations. That being said, the hotel a a cute lodge feel. Rooms were average but very clean. Amenities in the room were good (razor, sewing kit, etc). Staff were very nice. Food in the restaurant was good but a little overpriced for what was offered and would have liked to see some healthier/less buttery or fried menu options. Takes about 15 min to get to the canyon south rim from here. Would recommend staying here.More

Decent place for location
No five-star hotels in the Grand Canyon, so if you are looking for luxury accommodations, this is about the best you will find. Our hiking tour guide called this place "the taxidermy hotel" because of all the poor deceased animals adorning the lobby! Basic accommodations. I wish the hotel had washers and dryers because this is a "laundry intensive" type of trip, particularly in the August heat. No dairy alternatives in the dining room and rather bland and unhealthy breakfast buffet (lots of bacon, limited and boring fruit selection).

Unclean room
Very filthy room, cut off nails, hairs (even pubic hair) and dust. After having indicated this, not much improved. Were happy the room was dark.
Had to pay 20 dollars to check in early. This was at 2 pm, check in time 4 pm. This was a first during our trip.
I would look for another hotel if you want to visit the Grand Canyon, it’s not worth the money.

Expensive, but nice
We planned our Grand Canyon trip just a few months before we went, so staying on the property of the national park was out of the question, since those hotels get booked over a year in advance. I went in search of the next best thing, and found this place on Trip Advisor.
This hotel is run by the same company that owns several (all?) of the hotels within the park, so they are deeply entrenched in the activities their customers are interested in. The location is very convenient, plus they are a stop on the bus line that goes directly into the park, so that is a big benefit.
As we worked out the details of our trip, we only needed to spend one night here, which is good, because this place is very expensive for what it is. We also wanted to check in early (only a couple of hours) so that we could get started on our exploration of the canyon. They obliged, but charged us an extra $20, which just felt like a money grab, since they clearly had a room available.
When we arrived in our room we were quite pleased. We were on the first floor, which has exceptionally high ceilings, which made the room seem bigger than it really was. While not spacious, the room was very nice and comfortable, with granite countertops on the furniture and in the bathroom. It also had a nice little kitchenette type of area, although it was oddly placed right next to one of the beds.
To be honest, we were at this hotel less than 24 hours so I don’t have much more than this to offer. Nice, convenient, but expensive. If you are OK with the cost, it could be a good choice for you.

Expensive but missing some basics
This is a nice hotel but also misses some basics. There were no places to charge your phone next to your bed. In 2019 that is as basic as it comes. I needed a pen to do some writing but there wasn't one in the room so I had to down to the front desk. The restaurants were off too. The nice restaurant said there was a long wait even though it wasn't busy and had many open tables. We went to the saloon and the food was lousy and order mixed up.

Clearly a very bad price/quality ratio but not many other alternatives...
Outdated, no charm, expensive, but it has the advantage of being well located and almost everything in the area is the same...

BUT little advice: the breakfast is a trap. You have to pay it BEFORE having a look at the buffet and oh my god the buffet is awful
