Welcoming beautiful lobby. Nice clean comfortable room with nice amminities. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and towels. Friendly staff. Pool and hot tub were clean. Nice work out room. Close to restaurants and park entrance.More

Horrible Experience
Do not be deceived by the high ratings. Should really take note of all the negative ones which I failed to do prior to booking. There was nothing special with the rooms.
The service was horrible from the minute you check-in. The first night there, we noticed sheet on bed had blood stains all over; 2nd day huge dust balls hanging over the vent in the bathroom over the toilet. Told front desk to have it cleaned out. Nothing was done up to our last night there. 3rd day, they delivered someone else's bill under our door.
Asked about laundry facility the person at the front desk just had a stoned cold face with a sniley attitude tells me to go to the park. I was stunned at her response. Shouldn't she have at least directed me where in the park?? At $370/night I would have expected better customer service. There are plenty of other hotels around the Grand Canyon with the same distance away from the park. Stay at the Holiday Inn instead right across the street from this lousy hotel. You'll have laundry facility and free complimentary breakfast. You're better off and not have to pay almost $400 a night. I wished I was able to upload pictures of those incidents that was mentioned earlier. They knew I had the pictures since I showed it to them, yet you'd think they'd made sure everything would be addressed.

Great Location! Friendly Staff! Very Good Restaurant! Nice Decor!
I read a lot of the negative reviews about this hotel and I began to wonder if I was staying in the same place. My wife and I thought it was very good overall. This is not a Motel 6. It is a first class hotel with a lot of amenities and priced accordingly. The location is excellent right on highway 64, a straight drive north from I-40, about 55 miles. Turn right out of the hotel and it takes you right into the GC National park, about 7 miles. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel and there is a large covered area under roof when you drive up to the reception. We booked a room with two queen beds and were upgraded to a balcony room. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was sufficient room for the 3 of us. The room was well appointed with a mini fridge, micro wave, safe, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, keurig coffee maker, credenza, desk, and real glasses and cups. The lobby is spacious and well decorated with taxidermy animals mounted on the walls. There is a good amount of natural stone used as well. There is free coffee in the morning. There is a well stocked gift shop in the lobby. All areas of the hotel were clean. Not sure what other writers saw that i missed. I checked out the fitness center (but did not use it) and it appeared to offer a good variety of equipment. I did not detect any strange odors as one writer noted. No one was using it. There is also a pool and hot tub which we did not use. We had dinner and drinks in the bar/saloon each night. The first night it was just wings and cold beer which was very good. The second night we had a full dinner. I ordered the grilled salmon with asparagus and my son ordered the filet mignon with the tempura vegtable medely. Both were cooked perfectly. My wife opted for small plates of potato skins and a caesar salad which we shared. We also had cocktails and a nice bottle of wine. Everything was excellent including the service. Steakhouse prices and sides are ala cart. There are other less expensive restaurants in the neighborhood if you are on a budget. I had the breakfast buffet both mornings and it offered a good variety of breakfast foods. Everything I ate (eggs, sausage, potatoes, fruit, yogurt) was very good and the buffet was clean. The price was $15.95 but I have had other breakfast buffets at comparable hotels for $24.95. There is a McDonald's next door if this price seems expensive. CONS: 1) There is only one elevator for guests and staff. I never had a problem but I could see some congestion if the hotel is fully booked. 2) Fold up beds were stored at the end of my hallway. Find a better place so they are out of sight. 3) The cleaning staff queues up in the first floor hallway in the morning. They should also find a better place to do this. If you are on a budget, then this place is not for you. It is on the pricey side. But if you want a clean 1st class hotel with a very good restaurant and bar, a comfortable room with amenities, and a great location, this is a good place. I would stay there again.

Not a 3 Star Hotel
A 121 room hotel that charges 4 star rates is barely 2 stars. After holding our one night deposit for months and with a confirmation number verifying our reservation for a wheelchair accessible room, we were greeted upon arrival with "we have no wheelchair room for you." The manager got involved and found a poorly designed room for us. The bolted down safe juts into the small passage way so that anyone in a wheelchair can not access the closet and towels. The microwave is on the floor and can't be moved. There are no towels bars in the bathroom at all. The halls are narrow and housekeeping's trollies are by far the largest I have ever seen obstructing the walk ways. The three story hotel is served by one small elevator. It is very slow and usually occupied by a trolly. Recommend you stay across the street at Best Western for $100 a night less.

Grand Experience Near Grand Canyon
My son stayed here and we didn't have a reservation but the front desk women was very nice and said they did have 1 room available and offered me a military discount since I am a retired military member. I found this to be the nicest hotel property in the area and compared to prices for the hotels at the South Rim in the Grand Canyon it was cheaper. The hotel offers a indoor pool and hot tub along with a nice gift store (they also offer a military discount). They have a nice bar on property that has some western character and a nice restaurant that has a steak house feel.

The rooms were average but comfortable & clean and they did offer some cable movie channels. Compared to the other hotels in the area this one has more character and feels more like your staying near the Grand Canyon than the others that we saw. Staying here you are about 5 minutes from the entrance to the Grand Canyon.

I found the customer service good from the front desk personnel to the people working in the gift store. We didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't comment on the service & food there but did enjoy a beer in the bar area. My favorite thing about staying here was the character of the hotel.

Overated and terrible service
We visited this hotel as part of a road trip across the US. From the moment we arrived at the check-in, their staff were disinterested jaded and seemingly determined to display a case study for passive aggressive negative behaviour.

When we questioned our room type we were told that’s all we have. Either take it or not - we are full and have a waiting list.

When I asked about a towel for the gym I was greeted with a deep sigh and the staff member I asked made it seem like finding a gym towel was akin to climbing Everest.

Basically every time I asked for the smallest request, I was treated with an immediate No bordering on disdain.

I know the Grand Canyon receives around 6 million tourists a year but surely there are better places to stay than this - especially at $400 a night!!!!
