Reviewed March 28, 2013

We only stayed one night, one of the best sleeps ever. We were booked in a king room on the lobby floor. Very large room, quiet, comfortable bed and very, very clean. It,s well located for your visit to the Grand Canyon. Front counter staff are imformative about the area and helpful. The free breakfast is a full size meal, really nice. Only place to stay in this area. This was our first trip to the Gand Canyon.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building, lobby floor is excellent

Dear Myron M.:

Thank you for posting this nice review of our Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn.

We were thrilled to learn you had one of the best night’s sleep ever. The accommodations are very comfortable but we must give some credit to the fresh air and all that walking and hiking that contributes to that kind of good sleep. We thank the Grand Canyon every day for that. We take pride in our staff be helpful and informative about the area because many people have never been here before and might not ever be back. We want everyone to experience all they can during their visit. Since this was your first trip to the Grand Canyon I surely hope there will be another. One day is just not enough to see everything. We hope you’ll stay with us again!

Thank you, Heather

The best part of this hotel visit was the free, buffet breakfast. The room was clean but tiny. In additiion, the room was located on the first floor between two outside entrances and across the hall from the ice machine...very noisy.
Upon checkin, neither pass key worked. I returned to the front desk for new keys. Instead of an apology, the desk clerk said "these better work'.

Dear David P.:

Thank you for this posted review of our hotel here at the Grand Canyon.

We are so delighted you enjoyed our free, buffet breakfast. It is a very popular amenity of the hotel and sending people off with a full stomach to enjoy a day of exploring and hiking in the canyon is key!

Although I’m glad you thought your room was clean and tidy I am sorry you felt your room was small. If you booked a “cozy” or “traditional” room, they tend to be more affordable and smaller than the more deluxe rooms or suites. We have this option for people traveling on a budget or with a large family to help keep the cost of a vacation down.

I have forwarded your comment about the noise of the ice machine to our maintenance department to address so that issue you experienced will not to annoy another guest. I also apologize for the front desk associate smart reply about the keys. Clearly they were trying to make a light of the situation and it came out wrong. I have forwarded your comment to the front desk manager to address with her staff. Those digital keys become unprogrammed easily if put near a cell phone because of the magnet should of been explained to you instead.

Thank you and we hope you will stay with us soon again. Sincerely, Heather

Stayed for spring break 2013 for 2 nights. Perfect location for visiting the south rim. The rooms were clean, the breakfast buffet was awesome, and the bowling alley and Game room was really fun for my 12 and 10 year old. The only problem was that the fine dining restaurant was awful. The food was bland and overpriced. Lamb and steak was tough and filet of sole soggy and greasy. Overall would stay here again in a heartbeat. I would just go off site across the street to the steak house for dinner.

Dear Shirazgirl513:

We all here at the Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn would like to thank you for taking time to post this review.

The Grand Canyon, what a great place to spend spring break 2013. We are perfectly located for visiting the south rim and very happy to know you enjoyed the accommodations and the amenities here . . . like the free breakfast buffet and especially the bowling alley and fun center. Perfect fun to keep a 12 and 10 year old occupied in a town with not too to do at night since we in such a remote area.

We are sorry however you did not enjoy the food in our Coronado Room. I have forwarded your comments not only to the Food & Beverage Director but to the Chef as well to address iwth their staff.

We are glad you would consider staying with us again and hopeful would give our dining room another try.

Thanks again! Heather

We do take pleasure in an amazing proximity to the entrance of the Grand Canyon National Park . . . literally not more than two minutes. Our guests also do enjoy the bowling alley and arcade. And we have great food at all three of our eating establishments.

This hotel is a 1970's style hotel with various external room buildings. The layout of the main build is not handicap friendly. I don't think he understood everything I said. The beds are uncomfortable and the halls are unclean. The breakfast buffet was mass-produced food, which was very cold.

Dear jbrophy7:

Thank you so very much for posting this review of our property.

The Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn was built shortly before 1970 and the outer buildings do still have that feel to them. I am surprised you felt the hotel was not handicap friendly though as there are elevators in the main building and a very accessible ramp to the breakfast buffet. And for your information, as an added upgrade this spring, we are now putting elevators in all three of the outer buildings.
I’m also sorry you felt the beds were uncomfortable as most people enjoy a great night’s sleep. However, we are all different and some mattresses are harder or softer than others making some people uncomfortable which we are sorry you experienced. As for breakfast being cold I’m sorry no one pointed out the microwave right at the end of the buffet so you could make your breakfast hotter.

We hope you’ll stop in again and see all the improvements we’ve made this spring first hand.

Sincerely, Heather

I booked this hotel based on reviews I had read on here. I am so glad I did. Not only was the staff friendly & eager to help, but the room was great. The breakfast buffet they serve is awesome!! Fresh fruit, pastries, potatoes, gravy, biscuits, eggs, pancakes, and sausage. Getting your fill at breakfast meant we could skip lunch-savign some money. If we ever go back to the Tusayan, we WILL stay here.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to the bigger room & the extra room was greatly appreciated. Rooms are also ve...
