“Great Facility at Grand Canyon Entrance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

Great facility with easy access to Imax Theater and Grand Canyon entrance.
Very courteous anf friendly staff from the front desk, housekeeping to the restaurant.
We called at midnight to the front desk for an additional blanket and it was delivered to our room in just a few minutes. Most impressive was the man who delivered the blanket didn't seem put out and had a smile on his face.

Room Tip: We liked the room that opens up to the garden.

Would never stay here again even if it was free. We were in third building near the pool. The location is absolutely the only thing going for this property. Pictures and description are misleading. I never write reviews and this dump is so bad I felt compelled to warn others.

The night staff on the hotel reception, in particular Michael do not have any idea how to talk or treat customers. On arrival we found the room was poorly equipped with no fridge or safe. When the issue was raised with the reception the girl on the phone could be heard laughing with her colleagues when I asked how large it was due to having electronic equipment. Later on that evening we could not use the wifi and. The response from the night manager was rude, flippant and what can only be described as challenging. When I suggested I speak to him in person he put the phone down! I have never had the misfortune of dealing with such poor customer relations and did go to speak to him, to his surprise! What ensued was a difficult conversation that was confrontational where he suggested I find somewhere else if I didn't like it! Apparently the wifi never works until after midnight, when everyone has gone to bed and he confirmed that is just the way it is! The hotel clearly advertise a service that is inadequate at best that can only cope with a limited amount of users, not the hundreds they have staying there and to compound the issues have staff that are lacking in any people skills or customer care. We are staying at this hotel through an agent and would never have chose such a poorly equipped over advertised hotel, it is clearly being advertised as something it isn't with poor amenities and services with staff that are incompetent and rude.,Very disappointed and would recommend giving the elaborately titled, Grand Canyon Plaza Resort, a wide berth.

Great location next to everything. Rooms are on the smaller side and you have to ask for mini fridge. The staff were pretty helpful though and the facilities looked good. We did have key problems the whole 3 days though and they didn't seem able to fix them which was annoying but they compensated us by not charging us for the foldaway bed which helped. The room we had was close to the restaurant and bar so it was quite noisey. Close to shops and restaurants and the canyons. Easy parking and free WIFI. Love this whole area so we were pretty happy to be here.

Room Tip: If your a light sleeper ask for a room further away from the bar & restaurant.

Incredibly disappointed in this hotel. Definitely not worth the rates they are charging. Rooms are outdated and poorly maintained. Unique feature was balcony facing the indoor atrium, but you are also over the dining area, and who wants to try and relax watching other people eat. No water pressure and couldn't get any hot water in the sink outside the bathroom. Internet DOES NOT WORK. When we called to ask the front desk about the WiFi, the gentleman that answered told my son that he was too busy to help him because he was checking a large number of people in, yet he never called back to address the issue. I guess the staff at this "Resort" isn't notified that hotels are in the service industry and helping the customer is the main component of their job. There was a tangled mass of cords under the bedside table that looked to be a bit of a fire hazard. Housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:30 AM the morning we were checking out and asked for our towels and sheets, even though check-out wasn't until 11:00 AM. When we did check-out we had a really hard time getting the luggage cart past the housekeeping cart. The housekeeping staff stood there and watched us struggle and then acted annoyed when they had to move their cart. This was actually the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Had there been "Motel" in the title I would have understood, but not "Resort". Do not waste your money!!!

Not sure what upset the other reviewers, we thought this hotel was good value for money. It probably is getting a bit tired, but it is ideally positioned just outside the Grand Canyon National Park. I travel quite a lot and first and foremost always measure a place by the attitude of the staff. In this case, they were particularly helpful. Cedric Colorado and Rich Milliron deserve specific mention for coping very patiently with two very jet lagged tourists. The room was immaculately clean. The restaurant was no more expensive than anywhere else in the middle of this tourist area and the food more than acceptable. We are going back next year and will book into this hotel without hesitation.

Room Tip: As one reviewer commented, this is an unusual layout, but several rooms have the advantage of being...

Yes it is overpriced for what you get, but what do you expect when it's at the Grand Canyon?
The place was clean. Service was friendly and prompt if we needed something. The restaurant was expensive but at least it was delicious with a large selection in their buffet. The bed was comfy and the lobby was pretty. I almost canceled my reservation because of the things I read from others' reviews, but I'm glad that I didn't. My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. If you don't mind spending the money, then come here for a comfortable visit...Oh and the gift shop by the main entrance is a good place to get souvenirs. I found some of the same things at other places and realized the hotel's gift shop had better prices.

Room Tip: Get one on the upper floor for a better view of the inner lobby and less noise from guests dining
