“Great place”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

Great place showing artifacts etc giving information on the canyon and a great informative film in HD for free or a donation more informative and closer to the rim (about 100 yrds)than all of the money making companies outside the park

We appreciate your review on your experience at the National Geographic Visitor Center. The visitor center has a fee station, staffed by the NPS, for guests to pre-purchase their park passes. The Rangers are available for questions and guidance to help guide guests in the right direction. The National Geographic Visitor Center also has staff from Pink Jeep tours and Papillion/Grand Canyon Airlines available for guests who are more adventurous and would like to book flights or tours.

Thank you for taking your time to write on your experience!

“National Geographic Visitor Center”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

Mainly a big gift store for the Grand Canyon. Kind of average in that it was selling more that it was informative. The IMAX Theater was attached so you had to go through the store to get to the show.

The National Geographic Visitor Center is located about 1 1/2 miles from the entrance to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Within the walls of the NGVC is the IMAX, which plays the Grand Canyon The Hidden Secrets movie. The NGVC also has the Explorers Cafe, a gift shop, a entry fee station staffed by NPS and representatives from Papillion Helicpoters and Pink Jeep Tours. It is a great place to start your visit to the Grand Canyon.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

“IMAX was just ok”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

This seems like a must-do start to the Grand Canyon trip but i am not sure if I could recommend it to others. The IMAX movie is neat but is quite dated and doesn't really give much "info" about the Grand Canyon as it is more of a narrative story. We had a coupon - don't do this without a discount!

The Grand Canyon: The Hidden Secrets film covers 4000 years of human history. The large format lends itself to more scenic and movement scenes than documentary style films. The film exposes some of the secrets of the canyon many travelers do not have the time or luxury to access. The film maker purposely focused on the beauty of the environment and distanced the film from the travelogue genre. It is intended to be an experience.

“Stay for the show”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

I found the show was very educational, too bad I didn't have time to go through all the exhibits. This is a good starting point if you visit the Grand Canyon, the staff was very knowledgeable and willing to explain everything in detail. Also, this is where both bus terminals start for the east and west legs.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your experience here at the National Geographic Visitor Center . Actually, the bus terminal is located about 7 miles north of the National Geographic Visitor Center (inside the National Park). Hope you get a chance to visit us again soon.
