We were allocated this hotel by our travel company NST and the stay was managed in the US by Focus Travel. I came with three colleagues and 28 girls. Check in was very efficient and the airy foyer welcomed us well. We were allocated rooms in Building 2 next to the small pool one floor up. I was delighted with this from a security angle as the hotel was clearly putting the safety of the students as a top priority. The whole building has been refurbished to a good standard and rooms are plenty big enough with effective (if noisy) aircon. Rooms were all in close proximity. Again this is what makes the difference for this type of trip. I had been in touch via email with Lydia, who does group bookings and had arranged for both dinner and breakfast. Carlos, the restaurant manager, welcomed us and reminded us of the options for our set menu dinner. The hotel was kind enough to give the pupils extra soft drinks and us staff a bottle of wine with dinner. Everything was well cooked and efficiently served; salad, main, ice-cream and a drink for 20 dollars. At breakfast we were equally delighted with the service and the quality of the buffet food. Building 1 has an indoor Spa in the middle of an attractive atrium. A deer was snacking in the car park and as we opened our curtains in the morning we had another munching in the field under our balcony. Staff were all so helpful and pleasant. A huge thank you to all, especially Carlos and the waiting staff. I cannot understand these negative reviews. Our short stay enabled us to visit Bright Angel and Mather Point. They were both truly wonderful. Recommended. More
