Front desk staff were welcoming and made sure our family had adjoining rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Good internet. Overpriced, but then so is everything in the immediate area. Great location when you are unable to stay in the park.

I chose this hotel based on the photos of the pool, thinking we could retire by the pool after a long day touring the Grand Canyon. Wow. Not the case. The pool was small and teaming with children and the water was so green and murky that we could not make ourselves get in.

The room we stayed in was large, with a master bedroom at the back and a living room at the front with a microwave and a small fridge. The bed was very comfortable, the sheets were soft and the ample number of towels were thick. While it was nice to have a separation of space, the room itself was dark and dated and it just didn't feel super clean. Dark, old carpet that was a bit dank. Dark draperies from an era long-gone. Dark tile in the bathroom (which did seem clean). Dim lighting throughout. The couch in the living room was a beige sort of faux-suede that also looked like it had seen better days long ago. The mini fridge in the front room did not fit into the built-in cabinet provided for it and the fridge itself was either too cold and froze our food or not cold enough so that I worried our food had spoiled.

The airconditioning in the room was noisy and when we opened the bedroom window, it opened onto a bank of noisy machinery.

This place could be so much better, especially at the rates they charge. It really is time for much-needed sprucing and updating. Please change the carpet and furniture and find some way to brighten the room so I don't have to hold the desk lamp over my suitcase to see what's inside!

Spent one night with family on vacation. Rooms are fair. Air quality was bad; we were all coughing all night. Pool was good. Suite was on the small size. The view from our room was of abandoned rusted vehicles on what appeared to be an abandoned lot.

I was sorry to hear that your stay with us was less than satisfactory. We have no control over the property with vehicles as that is private property. We do have a lot and pollen and such so allergies and dryness do cause problems at times.

While this hotel room was very clean, it was quite dated. Beds were ok, but air conditioner kept turning on & off which kept us awake, going from hot to cold all night. During the night the fire alarm started beeping, they came & removed it, but on checkout we were offered no apologies or discount for the terrible night sleep we had. Was particularly distressing as we had a 7 hour drive the next day. We had tea at the restaurant which was ok, & the service at the little bar outside our room was excellent. At least the room was clean.

It's so hard to pick a hotel off it's website. The Grand Canyon Plaza looked awesome online - and there were pros and cons when we got there.
Pro: the location is excellent - closest to the National Park entrance and right on the bus stop to the park. The lobby is beautiful and every person we interacted with were very kind and helpful. They upgraded us to a suite (not sure why) - but we had a 1 bedroom (2 queen beds) bath and a separate living area with couch, chair and fridge and microwave.. 2 TVs. The beds were some of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever been in.
Cons: The unit was very dated and smelled extremely musty. I think there must have been mold in the a/c - I started developing post nasal congestion fairly quickly upon entering the room. Thought I was catching a cold - but the next day when I spent the day at the Park - it cleared completely. Returned again after being back in the room.
Overall - it was clean and spacious. The price was in line with the others (read: EXPENSIVE).
