The hotel has a convenient location to the Grand Canyon, it's only a short drive to the entrance of the park. We had a room on the 2nd floor that is primarily accessed by an exterior staircase. In nice weather that would have been great, but because there was snow on the ground it was a pain to bring the luggage in and out. (You will spend your life waiting for their elevator to arrive, don't waste your time). The balcony of our room opened into the inside of the hotel, with a view of the jacuzzi- though you can't access the inside of the hotel without going outside again. It's just an odd design. The hotel wasn't full, and we probably could have asked for another room with a more convenient location, but it wasn't a major issue. The room itself was clean, and had a nice TV with a minifridge as well. In general, the place could use an upgrade/modernization, but I think the rate was reasonable considering how close it is to such a major tourist attraction. The hotel jacuzzi is really nice, and quite large. There is a changing cabana, but you'll need to bring towels, and then keep in mind that you may need to be outside for a few minutes on your way back to your room.
Everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful, and we had the breakfast buffet at the hotel which was a nice selection and very moderately priced. The waitress was friendly and we had a great experience with all the hotel personnel. I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that can be accessed from inside the hotel, especially if you are traveling in spring, fall, winter.

Would highly recommend Canyon Plaza for a stay at Grand Canyon. Located just outside the Grand Canyon Park entrance about 3 miles. The area is called 'Tusyan' and is loaded with interesting information stops. An Imax Theater right outside the door of the hotel. Also a bunch of little pink jeeps waiting to take people on tours, parked next to the Imax Theater.
Restaurant at the Canyon Plaza is wonderful. The best dinner buffet! Salads were many and very good. Main courses were fresh and delicious. We also ordered off the menu and were very impressed with the steak selections... perfect.y cooked.
There is an indoor atrium that is beautifully decorated with living trees and plants. Some of the rooms have balconies that overlook the Atrium. There is an outdoor pool, but was closed for the winter months. Weather was beautiful for the beginning of March, sunny but chilly. A BIG indoor pool/spa in the Atrium.
Rooms were huge and very comfortable. Beautiful decor with big bathrooms. Very quiet for relaxing in between excursions into the Canyon.

Room Tip: Take good walking shoes for the Canyon view locations. Enjoy a quiet glass of wine in front of the big fireplace in the lobby... comfortable seating with great art work to enjoy.

First of all, we were given a suite instead of the room I had reserved. It was like an apartment. Everything was A-1. The only thing that wasn't good is the location of the elevator. The stairs were located close to our entry door so that was fine for us. Location was the best. Just minutes away from the canyon. I had read the reviews on the restaurant at the motel, so we didn't even try it. We definitely would book a room here again.

Room Tip: Eat at the Steakhouse east of this motel. Excellent food and good prices. It's located across from the Imax theater. Motel was great.

Close to the Canyon without the Canyon resort prices. We were upgraded to suites as a couple busloads of kids filled the regular rooms in the building next door. Nice rooms and only minutes to Mather's Point. The restaurant has both meals to order or buffet style dining. We only ate at the hotel as there are very few dining choices in the area. We ate at the buffet line and the food was great. The girls at the desk were quite friendly and helpful.
