Totally Hopi-owned and operated, the Moenkopi Hotel is a little spot of paradise in the midst of the Painted Desert. For the good room prices, easy access to the Grand Canyon and as a great meeting place of nations, the Moenkopi is a great bargain, comfortable and fun. The complimentary breakfast was filling with lots of variety. The best part was sitting next to a family from another country; a good way to make new friends or hear a polyglot of languages.
The salt-water swimming pool is the best. The Hopi employees are wonderful people; gentle, courteous, respectful and very nice to talk to. We met a new employee, a young woman who had lived on the "Second Mesa" most of her life. Working at the hotel was her first time seeing so many people from so many different nations and it was a great learning experience for her. We felt the same way, and the human connection we made was wonderful. By staying at this hotel, you not only get an inexpensive, clean and comfortable room, you get a cultural experience of the Painted Desert and you can support the Hopi directly. They opted for a hotel, not a casino, and you have to give them credit for a wise decision.

Room Tip: An eastern room is a nice way to wake up.

This Inn is Hopi owned and run. It was a wonderful oasis for a good night's rest and quiet. Both reservations here are dry, and the Inn allows no alcohol on the premises. We left our travel Scotch in the truck locked up. It is amazing how quiet a place can be without noisy party types rolling in at 2 a.m.! I could get used to this.

Very nicely designed and decorated. And a great bed.Would stay again in a heartbeat.

I travel through this area quite frequently. This is my first stay at this hotel. This may be the best hotel in Northern Arizona Indian country. There are a couple of other good choices around, including the Hampton Inn in Kayenta and the Cameron trading post. But for the money, this property exceeds both. The staff was very friendly at check in. The rooms and beds are superb. The entire property is spotless. Outstanding pillows and beds. Decent wifi. Beautiful common areas. Excellent breakfast. This is a great choice while visiting the Hopi or Navaho lands. It is a little costly, but not too much so considering the area.

This place is fine enough and better than one might expect in such a remote place. Stayed here en route to Monument Valley from the Grand Canyon, where prime lodging needs to be booked more than the 5 months in advance that I tried. This place didn't have my Expedia booking and blamed it on Expedia. Internet was painfully slow in my third floor room. Rooms were fine and clean, but with the lower end linens and toiletries one expects in cheaper hotels. Rooms not as nice as common areas, which were better finished.

This beautifully looking hotel is not the complete package. Outside it is great to look at, the gardens, pool and the surrounds are kept so clean, each morning three men do a complete circuit ensuring all is pristine. Inside it is much the same, very, very clean as was our room. With that going for it maybe some staff training on how to deal with customers would not go amiss. Our welcome was hard work to say the least, we tried to engage the receptionist in conversation but it proved monosyllabic and one sided. Following an excellent nights sleep it was to the breakfast room we went and then returned to our room without eating. The hotel, at least during our two night stay caters for coach parties and our arrival at breakfast coincided with that of the coach travellers, result was no room in the inn. In all the number of guests that can be accommodated is 136 ( and we were told they were fully booked) whilst the total seated breakfast dining area can accommodate 44. That is a generous estimate as the tables are in truth only big enough for two persons but have four chairs. It is a ridiculous arrangement and needs addressing if guests are not to be inconvenienced. The breakfast when we got it was ok, it certainly was not to the standard of some other hotels visited, the area was clean and the subject of constant staff attention. It just lacked space on which to place the food, it did not include any pastries, the toasters were so slow you could believe they had died and maybe the hot food in the old school type heated bins were I thought things of the past. After a day visiting the sights, leaving at 0830 and returning at 1700 hrs it was with horror we found our room had not be cleaned. We contacted the desk and they said you should put a notice on the door if you require the room to be serviced. It is appreciated if one had a do not disturb sign out to extend a rest then maybe such actions would be correct but to leave for the day and find it thus is beyond both belief and experience. I must say that when the manager was made aware of our room condition three members of staff put matters to right without delay. Maybe this is another reason for a little further staff training? Yes, certainly this lovely hotel should and could offer so much more and deserve the compliments that it merits.

Room Tip: They are from observation all very clean , quiet and well equipped.

While traveling through Tuba City, my mom and stayed here on May 3, 2014. The room was modern, clean, larger than average, well appointed and comfortable. We have been staying at the Fairfield Inn in Flagstaff on our trips to Tuba City and decided to stay in a local hotel. We were pleasantly surprised. Of course the room rate is $40 more than in Flagstaff but it is a decent value considering the location, breakfast options and nicer amenities. I plan to stay here again on my next trip. Loved the view of the San Francisco peaks from our room.

Room Tip: Get a room on 2nd and 3rd floor facing the San Francisco peaks. The peaks are the western sacred mo...
