Moenkopi Legacy Inn & Suites
Ranked #1 of 3 Hotels in Tuba City

Without question, this is the nicest hotel in Tuba City, and probably your only choice. Yes, the other reviews are correct in saying that alcohol is prohibited on the property. Yes, if you're looking for a quality meal in the area, you will be disappointed. But if you need a place to stay in the middle of the Arizona desert, this hotel certainly works.

As far as first impressions... Upon checking into our room, we noticed that the housekeeper either completely missed, or is absolutely terrible at cleaning toilets. Unfortunately, our request to have it cleaned went unanswered, and we were forced to make use of the disinfecting wipes we usually travel with. The cleanliness of the bedspread and pillowcases were also in question so we quickly removed them. The continental breakfast was also a disappointment so we followed the advice of other travelers and ate at Denny's next door.

Altogether we were happy with this hotel, but I would not set high expectations. This place would rate slightly below average in an average tourist town.

this wonderful hotel has been set up by the hopi elders and is a beautiful, welcoming introduction to the hopi village experience. the pool and hot tub were so relaxing in the early evening desert starry night. we enjoyed a unique navajo cultural night in the hotel ballroom as an added treat, and met a number of local friendly families. the service was friendly. fitness room was clean. breakfast was okay. the denny's next door was having a bad night. our waitress was thoughtful but the food took an hour - so be aware.

We reserved 2 rooms at the Moenkopi Legacy Inn. Everything was very nice. Easy check in with pleasant front desk personnel. The rooms were clean, modern, and quiet even though the hotel was full. The pool was clean and refreshing. Not a large selection of restaurants, but there is a Denny's next door that was adequate. Good morning coffee and breakfast. Great stop over on the way to Monument Valley or Grand Canyon.

We lucked into this booking. The staff were magnificent, very accommodating. The hotel room and amenities were very nice. I also learned a little about the Hopi culture here and believe I experienced the Hopi spirituality firsthand. We returned to the hotel for an additional night. My only problem with the facility was that the shower head in the first room did not work.

We had a great stay here. I even managed to jump into the pool, nothing spectacular though.

Dining options were limited. We went to a place they recommended in the opposite gas station for typical Navajo food. Well, seemed to be more on the fast food, deep-fried side of things.

At night they had a nice handicraft exhibition from local artists. With some local food tasting like blue corn pancake. We enjoyed that, I mean the event.

It's a good place to stop when you are going from Grand Canyon to Monument Valley.

The Moenkopi hotel is located within the Navajo reservation in the city of Tuba. When signing in we were told that you are not allowed to bring alcohol with you, neither are you able to purchase any alcoholic beverages on the reservation. The hotel, which is designed in a Native American theme is very nice, clean and stands out from its surroundings. As there was a mix up with our reservation, we received an upgrade to a larger room. While large, the room was very dark. However, WIFI worked very well in the room.
We arrived late and had difficulties finding a place to eat dinner in the area, as the hotel only serves breakfast, but overall we enjoyed staying in the hotel.
