Moenkopi Legacy Inn & Suites
Ranked #1 of 3 Hotels in Tuba City
Reviewed September 23, 2012

We weren’t quite sure what to expect when we arrived at this hotel but we were very pleasantly surprised.
It is a lovely hotel set in the middle of Tuba City which is a very small town.

The suite with 2 queen sized beds was large and comfortable and we enjoyed a very comfortable quiet night.
The toiletries here were really nice so do try them.
The hotel is built around the pool which unfortunately had been contaminated by a lot of sand in the recent storm. However the staff worked very hard and it was cleared while we were there.

The Hopi Indians who run the hotel are lovely people, really warm in their welcome of guests.
We enjoyed the evening presentation called ‘Experience Hopi’ and would recommend it to anyone wanting to know more about the Hopi Indians.

Breakfast was one of the best selections we had on our trip too.

All in all our stay here was a really good experience. Highly recommended.

Stayed here on the way from Albuquerque to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Service was friendly. Hotel as a whole as well as room were very clean. Free breakfast was great- nice selection of hot and cold items and real (not paper) plates. Pool and hot tub were clean and pleasant as well.

Stayed here 2 nights. Best hotel in area. Built by Hopi Indians to help foster tourism. Very nice facility. Breakfast part of room rate and well done. Tuba City very small town, offers limited businesses, several new fast food type restaurants. Draw is opportunity to see the Hopi reservation (which is worth the trip) about 40 miles away.

Pros
1. Clean and quiet
2. Nice sized rooms, bath clean
3. Pool area ok (can be windy at times)
4. Friendly staff (note Indians have a more reserved style)
5. Various art shows / talks from time to time
6. Good location (and linked to several Hopi guide services)

Cons
1. Limited staff makes check in / out slow from time to time
2. Bit pricey but rooms are large
3. Restaurant choices limited

This hotel was quite new, and built on the Navajo reservation. It was staffed with local people whom I assumed were native Navajo. The service in the hotel was excellent. We called for a refrigerator in our large king sized room and were impressed with how fast they delivered it. The pool area was quite large and under-utilized. Included in our rate was a decent standard breakfast. The only complaint I had was the no alcohol policy which is likely standard on most of the reservation hotels. There are no decent restaurants in Tuba City, unless you like substandard pizza, or if Denny's is a favorite. Although this hotel was quite a reprieve from our drive from Colorado, we would likely in the future bypass Tuba City and drive the additional 3 hours to Phoenix.

Room Tip: Top floor at the back of the hotel is very quiet and away from the highway.

After days of rustic and quaint places, it was a pleasure to stay here with my family of four. The pool was clean and refreshing and the hot tub was great for our stiff muscles. The hotel interior and rooms are decorated very tastefully and everyone was polite and ready to help.

We had a disastrous night in Flagstaff (checked into SpringHill suites after disastrous ones at the Ramada Inn and Executive Inn & Suites). So, after a long day at GC, we drove out in the middle of nowhere for our destination for the night, Tuba City. After our experience in Flagstaff, it was a welcomed relief when we checked into Moenkopi. The staff was friendly and courteous, but more importantly the room was clean. It was a very unique hotel. The decor was unique as well. We were staying in a lot of hotels on our road trip from Vegas to Colorado Springs and it was so nice to stay at a quality and comfortable room after a long day's drive.

This is a relatively new hotel which is smartly decorated in local Indian style and staffed by friendly locals. The rooms were very large and very clean and the bed was most comfortable.Breakfast was basic buffet style, in house, and catered for all needs. We enjoyed the unique nature of Tuba City, right down to two large horses roaming the main street.
The hotel was quiet, had plenty of off street parking and had a good swimming pool.
Staff were able to recommend local eating places- we chose the Hogan at the other end of town. There is a very good museum with an outside interpretive walk beside this restaurant. As international travellers, we enjoyed this unique hotel as a great stopover between the Grand Canyon and Pagosa Springs , Co.

Room Tip: Rooms near the pool can be noisy late afternoon while people cool off but was not a problem at night
