I did this hike last week with two friends. We booked a tour in San Pedro for 100Q each which included car transport (not tuk tuk, woohoo!) to and from San Pedro, our entrance fee, and of course the guide. The road to and from San Pedro is a bit nauseating, but thats okay.
We hiked from the pueblo above San Pablo (Santa Catarina I think?) where we met our local guide, Nicolas. He was a doll and taught us a lot of stuff about the local cultures and the story of the Nose. The hike up is a bit tough only cuz of altitude, and we left around 10am walking so it was quite hot and sunny. It was a picture perfect clear day however, and we could see all the way to the Pacific Ocean on one side, and 7 volcanoes on the other- so so so cool.
Highly recommend this hike, especially if the San Pedro volcano seems too much. It is beautiful to get above the Lake and experience the perspective.

This hike is an easy ascend which you don't need much time and effort to complete. The sunrise and the view is lovely. I wouldn't do it anytime else

I don't know what we were thinking! We had hired a mototaxista, Tuktuk driver, for half a day. 200Q for whatever we wanted to do. I said sure when he suggested the Nariz. It was wonderful, beautiful, utterly worthwhile in every way - easily worth the 30Q tarifa at the top. BUT we would have been a lot more
comfortable in anything but sandals! Duh.

My partner and I hiked up Indian Nose and loved the rewarding views. We didnt make the sunrise because its rainy season and we were weary of committing to an early morning hike and not being able to enjoy the views if it were cloudy. We decided on going up with a guide because robberies are common, after scoping out a few companies that offer guides we decided to go through Rising Minds. We loved our guide and were happy to support a local non-profit. To find the NGO office/organize a guide, you can contact them via their website or if youre in San Pedro their office is located next to Mayab Language School.

We made this track from San Juan on our own. Its safe and very nice. It takes 2-3 hours to get to the top or you cango just 30min to the Cross. It costs 30Q.
