“Lovely hotel with million$ view”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

This is my 5th time staying at Hotel Sakcari. Was wonderful as always. My room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Simple but adequate furnishings. Comfy king bed with plenty of extra blankets for those chilly Atitlan nights. Huge picture window with stunning lake views. Lovely gardens. The hotel is a great location - nice and quiet in the evenings yet an easy walk to the boat dock and the best San Pedro restaurants. The room was only $36 per night which is very reasonable for what you get. Also the service is always lovely and attentive. Matt is super friendly and helpful. I always book several massages with Ada who has her studio at the hotel - she is without doubt the best massage therapist I have ever experienced and just an amazing person. I can't wait till my next visit - I will keep coming back.

I have stayed at this hotel during two visits in the past. When I called to book for a third visit the rate had increased from less than $20 a night to more than $40: same rooms, low season. I couldn't figure, so I stayed at Lola's in a better room and handier location for 100 quetzals ( $13.)

We spent three chilled and peaceful nights here in an upstairs room with amazing views of the lake and surrounds. We arrived in the dark and waking up to sunrise over the lake was an unforgettable experience. There are lovely garden at the back of the property with hammocks which are perfect for relaxing and admiring the lake view. We took out the free kayaks for an hour which was a nice extra. There is cable tv and good wifi and a huge bed, however there was a slightly musty smell in the room. Hey, with a view like this who cares!

Room Tip: You have to ask for a lake view!

I think the view from this hotel is probably the best, the service is another story and the rooms lacked character, but were clean and had a tv, something I rarely found in guatemala, which could be it's only selling point considering anywhere has a good view if if is a view of this wonderful lake

Visiting San Pedro its a great experience and staying at this hotel makes it even better. You can start by taking a kayak and have another view of the town and the lake or just relax in the pool while you enjoy an amazing view of the lake. the staff is friendly and helpful and most important the rooms are really clean.

I used Hotel Sakcari to house guest who came to San Pedro for my daughter's wedding last week and it could not have been a better choice. From the ease of corresponding with them via e-mail, booking and paying a deposit from the U.S. via PayPal to secure most of the rooms in the hotel to the service that we received while there, it was a totally pleasant experience. The rooms were spotless, showers hot, views spectacular, the gardens perfect for bridal pictures. Matt, the manager provided incredible service, answered our questions, and took care of every need. Many guests got massages right on premises and said they were very good. The location is just out of range of the noisy part of San Pedro but still within a minutes walk to restaurants, bars, the docks and the larger village. My nephew used the free kayaks every day and we found it very nice that we could get a cold beer without leaving the hotel grounds. Because we were a large group, having the seating areas and gardens to gather in for conversation and drinks was so convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting San Pedro.

We arrived at Hotel Sakcari on July 5, 2013. A group of twenty Americans,, ages range from 33 years to 88 years old. Group with different interests and great expectations.
We had being received by Matthew, who gracefully answered twenty questions at the same time.
How we can change money?, Where was the close pharmacy? How we can arrange a boat tour? Where we can purchase flowers? How we can hire a Tuc Tuc? Where we can get ice?
He help all of us with a big smile, keeping the group happy. The rooms were clean, the towels clean, the atmosphere it's wonderful surrounded by tropical flowers and plants.
The terrace located at different levels give the sense to stay at a summer home instead a hotel.
I will give this hotel an outstanding performance not only in customer services but the impeccable rooms and baths. Highly Recommended Kudos to Matthew. Wi fi works well

Room Tip: On higher floor view of the lake
