Above our budget at 305 quetzals (nearly $40) but well worth it. The room and bathroom was stylish and spotlessly clean. Matt, the manager, was incredibly helpful & gave us lots of advice about what to do. The place overlooks the lake and the view is incredible. You can use the kayaks at no extra cost.

Room Tip: Room 4 has a double window with the view of the lake - amazing.

I have twice brought groups of university students to San Pedro and have stayed at this hotel both times. It is ideal, whether with a large group or on your own. It is inexpensive (generally less than US $20 per person), clean, and nice. It is in a quiet yet convenient location with wonderful views of Lake Atitlan from most rooms. The hotel is secure and the staff helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Most rooms look out over the lake but be sure to request such a room, just in case.

We stayed at the Sak'cari just for two nights and would love to have stayed longer. Next time we're in Guatemala we will! We had room 15, with a picture window overlooking the lake, and a balcony running along by all the rooms just in front. We sat there from about 5 a.m. one morning to see the sun rise over the lake. Spectacular. The location of the hotel can't be beaten apart from the super view of the lake. It's a little walk from the Pana dock, but once you're there, there are plenty of eating and drinking places within 2 minutes. The rooms are big, with everything you need - more furniture than a lot of mid-range hotels provide. The bathroom was also lovely - pretty big, too, with a more spacious shower than average. There are several attractive garden areas, with seating and hamocks. You could quite happily spend a day at the hotel just chilling out in very pleasant surroundings. The staff were friendly and helpful. We found the pillows very flat, so asked at reception if we might have another pillow each for the second night, and within a few minutes someone came down with them. There is free drinking water, and coffee available on a 'pay as you go' basis from a machine. Oh, and needless to say, the place was very clean. All in all, this is very good value, very restful, and definitely to be recommended.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms have a view of the lake.

We intended to stay at Sakcari for 4 nights and ended up staying 10. The rooms are large and clean and have a beautiful view of the lake, and cleaned daily by the lovely staff - we really had a soft spot for Isabella. The beds were big and so, so comfortable - welcome relief from some of the dodgy mattresses we've encountered along the way. Hard to get out of bed in the morning!! Rooms have cable tv. Best of all the hotel and the rooms are very quiet and peaceful. Lovely just to lie in the hammocks overlooking the water. For a bit over $30 a double, this was definitely the best value hotel for what we got since commencing travelling over 4 months ago. Water refills were free and they have a fridge to store food in. Mateo the Canadian on reception was a real help and had some great tips and suggestions for all our questions - eg where to eat, how to get to places, etc. The only real fault I'd find with the place is that the wifi was very patchy in our room - we hovered between a bar and 3 bars the whole time. Other than that we were super impressed. For this price range, you won't be disappointed, strongly recommend it.

Stayed here a week. My friends stayed in different hostels that were 8th of the price but I lived getting back to this jem at the end of the day. Make sure you get a day of just hanging aroung the hotel to enjoy the hammocks in the well kept lush teraced garden.
Easy going owner and staff that help out with a smile.

Espectacular hotel, the place makes you feel like in paradise. We stayed in room 4 for 2 nights, just over the lake, with great views... The room was very clean and neat, the staff very friendly..
The hotel itself has relaxing and very good vibes, you can relax and disconnect from the busy life in this place... If I would have had more time I would have spent more days in this idyllic place...

Room Tip: I recommend the rooms with lake views... room 4 is almost falling in to the lake...
