Description: A Graduate- run restaurant located in the CECAP vocational center building in the town of Santa Cruz la Laguna. It is part of a yearlong culinary arts program that trains local indigenous youth in food preparation and service. Open from 8am to 5pm Monday through Saturday. Also, special events and First Friday Pizza Nights. Take out menu available. The food is the best in Santa Cruz! The view from the rooftop restaurant is amazing as well. Visitors will have an opportunity to visit the vocational center and purchase locally made crafts in our shop.

This small restaurant is located in the Vocational School and is run by the students of the culinary arts program. When I say culinary arts, I mean culinary! This is not your run-of-the-mill restaurant. They prepare many Guatemalan and Guatemalan-inspired dishes with a flair that can't be beat. Presentation is beautiful as you can see from those photographs. The food is very safe and the restaurant has an amazing view of Lake Atitlan. There is artwork by local artists and the students on display and for sale. Also, make sure you check out the artesania shop (lower level) of products made in the center.

Lee Beal, of Los Elementos told us about this fabulous restaraunt. Very clean. Beautiful view. I loved the quaint ambiance. My family enjoyed mashed potatoes, carrots, chicken with pulique sauce. This is a traditional sauce served around Lake Atitlan. My son even asked for my chicken! The tea was excellent. I was pleased to know that I was helping out local Guatemalans by eating at Cafe Sabor Cruceno. Definitely go if you are in the area.

Great view of majestic Lake Atitlan, great food, smiling and helpful servers and chefs, and you get to do a good thing by supporting the vocational center program -- it doesn't get much better than this! Everything very professional and wonderful, a real success story!
