My husband and I visited Lake Atitlan for the first time last week. We didn't have much time so we wanted to make sure we had tours booked. Booking and paying our tour online beforehand was very easy, as well as communicating with Lee through e-mail. He was very responsive and answered all the many questions we had.

We booked a Kayaking tour and a visit to the villages ambitiously in one day. Our guide Sam picked us up form our B&B in Panajachel and took us on a private boat to the adventure center. From there we Kayaked for about 30 min to the cliff jumping. It was a real thrill and we enjoyed the break after the paddling. After returning to the center we took off again in a private boat to visit the villages.

Sam did an excellent job of explaining what makes each one special and the stories that go along with them. We especially enjoyed the lunch he took us to in Santiago as well as getting to see Maximon, things we would've never found on our own. We enjoyed the special day Sam provided which gave us a real insight of the Mayans and the life around Lake Atitlan.

We enjoyed it so much we booked another tour with Sam for the next day. He took us on a pretty strenuous, but enjoyable hike up to the ceremonial caves. The hike was not for the faint hearted, but we enjoy the challenge. He also took us to a very special spot overlooking the lake. It felt like he customized the tour just for us and we became friends as we spent more time together. After we caught a Chicken Bus (never thought I would be on one!) to the Sololá market and for another fabulous meal. He then was able to book us a shuttle to Antigua. This unplanned day became a special one due to Sam. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and would recommend him for your tours in Lake Atitlan.
