Allan was such an amazing guide - probably the best one we have ever had (and we have had quite a few guides in Central America). He was great company, patient and informative. Each time we saw an animal he seemed just as excited as us (even though he had seen them before), which just made the experience even better. If you decide to go to Corcovado national park then do yourself a favour and choose this tour with Osa Great Adventure. You will not regret it.
We saw tapirs, a crocodile, a sloth, a lot of monkeys and different kinds of birds. Allan helped us take pictures of the animals through his standing binoculars. Big thank you Allan, you were amazing !
You are welcome. Our guides do their best and we are happy you had a great experience.
Our guide was tireless in pursuing opportunities for us to see animals, and as a result we saw 4 species of monkey; a whole group of coatimundi; a wild boar; toucans; a mother and baby caiman; numerous birds, spiders, and insects; and even the elusive tapir! Our guide was so focused on the animals that he sometimes left us people alone for stretches of time while pursuing the tapir or the puma. We walked through a lot of mud (choose your shoes accordingly), sometimes off trail, occasionally needing to balance on tree roots and navigate through somewhat challenging terrain. The guide didn’t stop or slow down to make sure everyone was keeping up, and he didn’t give us a break to sit down at the ranger station. We came away satisfied that we had the full Corcovado experience, but also exhausted.
Thanks for your feedback.
This tour was amazing! We started out seeing humpback whales and ended with a crocodile! Everything in between was amazing. Our guide and captain excelled at getting us close to wildlife of all sorts and were very knowledgeable about the mangrove ecosystem. Our guide had great eyes and was able to identify the many birds we saw with ease. Our group was very small so it was like having a personal tour for just my family.
Many thanks for leaving your review. We are happy you had a good time 😊
It was hard figuring out which group we were with in the beginning. Different tour groups everywhere. Once we found our guide the trip was a blast!
Many thanks for your review. We work for happy clients.
Incredible experience, very well organized snorkelling tour around Cano island. Many species were there: colorful fishes, turtles ans shark. Very great excursion !
It is nice to hear you had a very good day. We must remember it is a matter of being lucky :)
We all loved the experience.
We were a family of five (2 adults and 3 kids - 12 years, 9 years, and 5 years).
Osa Great Adventure were prompt in their responses (email and WhatsApp) during the booking and pre-trip planning. All the arrangements made by Osa were as per the booking -- the person at the office in Drake was helpful and friendly, the guide was great, and the boat captain was excellent. They provided fruit + water on the boat and lunch was served at a restaurant after getting back to Drake.
Our snorkeling experience around Cano Island was spectacular – there are a lot of shallow reefs with lots of fishes and more. The water is a pleasant temperature. Between the two snorkeling sessions, there is a break of around 45 minutes at a beach at Cano Island, which has a short hike to a look out point.
One point to remember - be very careful while entering the exiting the boat -- depending on the conditions (waves etc.), the boat can move suddenly and one may have just a few seconds to get onto the boat in each cycle (when the boat is steady for a few seconds, passengers get onto the boat and when the boat is being suddenly pushed out/in, passengers back off from the boat and wait). This gets tricky especially with kids. Also note that it is a wet entry/exit -- kids can get wet till above their waists, and adults can get wet till their knees, but may also get wet above their waists). Depending on the exact pick-up point and the tides, there may be lot of little rocks at the entry and exit point of the boat. It is not safe/ not allowed to wear open heeled slippers, so most people go bare feet (and carry their open healed slippers in their hands/ day-backpacks. Alternatively wear waterproof closed-healed water-shoes/ sandals, so you do not have to go bare-feet on the little rocks while entering/ exiting the boat.
Many thanks, we are happy you had a great experience. It is a wet landing as you mention. Our team is used to this and we try to make it as safe as possible.
