La Paloma was such an amazing lodge! We loved everything about it! The rooms were beautiful, set in unbelievably well-landscaped jungle with views of the ocean. We stayed in one of the air conditioned rooms which was perfect (great if you don't want any bugs! and with beautiful balconies where monkeys stop by). The food was also amazing -- every meal was delicious and we couldn't wait to eat. The produce was very fresh and the staff were unbelievably accommodating if people were interested in changing the meal/requested different food. We went on the jungle tour with Randall who was knowledgable, kind, safe, and enjoyable to be around. We also went to Cano Island for scuba diving with Vincent -- the diving was great, the gear was good and Vincent was a safe and knowledgeable dive master. Finally, the location is perfect, the walk along the beach was very nice and the lodge is remote enough that you don't see people all over the place. You can find beach space to yourself! It is quite and calm, perfect for a relaxing vacation.
I would recommend La Paloma to anyone, honestly! Everything was perfect -- a dream come true for my first trip to Costa Rica. And my boyfriend who has been to Costa Rica many times also enjoyed it. Pretty spectacular for anyone!
