Me and my best half was here for 3 weeks now in June/Juli 2012... We ended up here randomly after tip from a taxi driver at the airport, and that was THE best thing that could have happened to us :)
We experienced things like loss of power, water, internet etc, things that happen in Drake bay all the time, BUT, the loving and caring staff at Manolo ALWAYS made sure that we were treated well and taken great care of dispite these practical detailes..
We lived in a room with private bath, and for this price, and for the average standard of the Drake bay area, this all is VERY good !!
They also arranged several excellent tours for us, and what ever other information we would need they would help us with. Also there are always someone that speaks good English, something that we also liked a lot.

We are now proud to say that we are friends of Manolo and the wonderful people working there, and we will for sure go back to live there as soon as we can

Room Tip: We only used the "highest" priced rooms wich was with private bath room (still very cheap...

sometimes you reach places ijn ares that seem far away from too much civilization and the only thing you need is a simple place that does not bother you as a guest. This was manolo for us.

helpful with activities in the park and snorkling , decent food, nice rooms and osa does the rest.

Our family felt so welcomed and taken care of by the Cabinas Manolo family. Comfortable accommodations, good food, and many activities -- We loved the trip to Corcovado, where we saw many species of monkeys, horseback riding along the river to the beautiful waterfall, zip-lining that was exhilarating yet safe, snorkeling and hiking at Cano Island, night hike, and our own long exploratory hikes along the coast punctuated with welcome beaches. We are still remembering/savoring the picnic lunches at Cano Island! Javier is a great guide and knows the habits and characteristics of all the local flora and fauna.

Our experience here was first rate, and we loved the tour to Corcovado National Park organized by the family here, and led by Xavier. We saw at least 39 different animal and critters during our 3 days stay in Drake Bay day and night tours. Dont miss the night tour with Stacy, the "Bug Lady", it is such fun!

The room are large and clean, the hammocks outside are very relaxing. look for the scarlet macaws.

Manolo Cabinas provides all the best activities around Parque Corcovado. Guides are very talented and they'll take good care of you. The guide Xavier contact us the day before going to the National Park and Cano Island and told us how we should be prepared in order to explore the most beautiful places in Costa Rica. Especially the tour to Cano Island was excellent! Snorkeling with white tip sharks was amazing. The food provided by the restaurant was the best I tasted during my 4months stay in Costa Rica. The local Mahi-mahi is very delicious. This is the hotel you should choose if you decide to visit Corcovado National Park. The owner also helps you with travel back to palmar norte from sierpe when you are leaving.

Room Tip: Rooms aren't the cheapest ones but they are very clean and quiet.

I really like this place, collected from the beach, great family, great food, close to the beach and really quiet. I've got my own room with a single bed, comfortable mattress, mosquito net, clean bathrooms and hammocks, it couldn't be nicer. The beach is beautiful and they organised a diving trip for me straight away and I did the Isla Cano yesterday which was great. A brilliant dive trip with divemaster Danny, a spanish guy who couldn't be more helpful. The beach is pristine and quiet, amazing scenery almost like Jurassic Park and more mangoes than you can eat. I feel like I am in heaven. Even the trip from Sierpe on the boat was like a tour, through the magroves, I even saw two alligators. This place is great, one of the best accommodation I've stayed in and a nice treat to have a room and not a dorm.

Room Tip: My room was C, quiet, own hammock, single bed, great view and wifi access.

We booked a three night package that came with food and two tours at Cabinas Manolo, which is a nice little family-run hotel. The owner, Manolo, picked us up at the Beach, and drove us to our hotel. Rooms are not fancy but clean, equiped with mosquito nets, fans, a terrace with hammocks and good-sized bathrooms. The staff is super friendly, social and prepares good local and international food. We enjoyed our chats with the son-in-law, and some delicious local pastry and drinks!Tours can be booked through the hotel, and are so worth it! They provide you with all the information you need, as well as the usage of their computer with Internet.
One little tip for the owners: our room was cleaned every day, which was super nice, but our towels and sheets did not really need to be refreshed every day. Maybe you can ask the guests to throw the towels on the floor when they want new ones? Every little thing helps to preserve our beautiful world and the great nature around Drake Bay.
