In a nutshell, the accommodation is great, very clean and well designed. The staff were amazing especially Miguel the owner who works constantly to make sure everyone is happy. The trips were amazing and the food was top drawer.
There are a few places that I would consider returning to (the world is a big place) but one day I'm sure ill go back here.

Finca Maresia is just beautiful. The rooms are spotless, beautifully designed, and really well equipped. The food was great (I am a vegetarian and sometimes that causes problems in Costa Rica) and Miguel creates a very friendly environment to meet with other guests at dinner. Miguel himself could not have been more obliging or helpful with information, advice and transportation.
Excellent value for what is provided too.

Finca Maresia is almost there as a top lodge, but fell short on a few details.

But first, the good:
The lodge is located in a quiet, secluded area, on a beautiful piece of property. There is dense rainforest all around, and many birds and howler monkeys can be heard or seen.
The bungalows are comfortable, and nicely decorated. The bathroom is modern and well-designed. Beds are comfortable. And each bunglow has a private deck with hammocks. Wifi is available in the dining area, and may be sometimes accessible from your cabin.
The dining area has expansive views over the property. We spent some time watching toucans from the deck there. Meals are good, with an honor system for purchasing drinks and food. Dinners are set menus (with a vegetarian option), at a set time, around a communal dining table. For those who want more privacy, you're out of luck.

There were lots of small negatives that detracted from the overall experience. But however, that said, we would definitely stay here again. During our stay, the owner/manager was very short-staffed and trying to take care of everything himself. We felt sorry for him, but this meant that there wasn't an ease of service as he was always harried through his day. There are so many tours available from here, but nothing is in writing.... and you can't pay for your tours here, you have to pay at the various vendors. We weren't informed of this in advance, so many people were short of funds at the end of their tours. This also isn't the normal practice of other lodges/hotels here.
The location is fairly remote from town, and beaches. You can only get a ride in with the manager, if he happens to be going into town. Otherwise, it is a longish walk.
While our room was nice, our patio was overlooked by every other cabin, and had limited views of the jungle. Some other cabins seemed better designed. Hot water is solar-powered, and can be very difficult to get adjusted to a constant temperature for the shower. But, we heard from various other tourists in much more expensive places, that they couldn't even get hot water!
Be cautious about storing any food in your suite, as all cabins seemed to be plagued by small, biting ants. These generally stay outside, but you don't want to entice them in.
Whle the hammocks are nice, it sure would be nice to have a chair.
Make sure you bring enough cash, no credit cards are accepted. We don't know if there are any banking facilities in Drake Bay.
This is a great place for exploring Corcovado Park, and there are numerous other tours available -- including scuba-diving, Night Insect tour (highly recommended), and mangrove tour.
Dinners here are at a set time too. So, you have to be at the dining area on time, and they are quite strict about this. Given it's a set menu with limited kitchen staff, this is quite understandable.

Nothing ritzy, nothing posh. Finca Maresia has only the basics: wooden bungalows, ample gardens, an open air terrace-reception-communal area. But Drake Bay is such an otherworldly beautiful place that not much can be done to upstage Nature anyway. But, oh, the service. Miguel, the owner and jack-of-all-trades will pick you up at the beach, after you arrive by boat and jump into the surf like a modern Conquistador. Then, he will recommend and arrange for you all the attractions available in the area, including visiting the National Park, snorkeling in Isla del Caño or quad riding to virgin, white-sanded beaches. Lunch is not served in the hotel, but breakfast and dinner are outstanding, both hearty and healthy. Every night, the guests meet for dinner, conversation and a night cap in the open terrace, surrounded by the noises of the jungle. The rest of the staff is polite and quiet, and always helpful. By far, one of the best hotels in this category in Costa Rica.

Room Tip: Get a Standard Room for 4 people, even if you travel solo or with only one companion. Value is still right and you will enjoy the extra space.

I'm from Costa Rica, but never thought that a beautiful and pacific place could be so far and so close from San Jose downtown. I explain, so far because is a 7 hours trip (which is a long trip for costarricans), and so close because is in the most beautiful road to see, The Costanera, with the beautiful pacific beaches (dominical, bahia ballena, uvita), after that, in Sierpe take the little boat (lancha), and Ignacio was waiting for me and my wife on Drake, with his car to take us to the hotel.

The place is awesome, I think because of the creativity of the owners, how to make a confortable rooms, out of mosquitoes, clean and pure water, with a lot of activities to do, every one is programing the day before, according with your expectations and recomendations of the owner.

Room Tip: None special, just found the one according with your necessities, public bathroom is for two couples, them is not a problem.
