“Rejuvenation of mind body and spirit”
Surrounded by the elements of Mother Nature Cascada Farallas is a playground for the senses. The grounds are plush colorful and relaxing. Water gently flowing over the rocks during yoga/meditation is perfect. Listening to the wild life in their natural habitat and never knowing for sure what may next cross your path is always a mystery. The aromatic smells of Fateh’s gourmet meals lingering in the air is a real treat.
We were content to stay on the property and explore at our leisure enjoying the tranquil ambiance of the jungle. Although no worries if you are looking for adventure and excitement there is plenty of that too. A hike to Nauyaca Waterfalls is a must. A fairly challenging hike but well worth the effort.
Cascada Farallas is a magical place! The food is fabulous, the grounds are beautiful! The energy is peaceful.

We came in the end of the rainy season and happened to drive by their entrance. We pulled in to paradise and the owners were very welcoming. We stayed there two nights and wished we had found it earlier. wonderful place to sit and watch the blue morph butterflies glide over the creek beside the villas. An absolute dream and can't wiat to return! We loved it!

Waterfall Villas is everything it was touted to be on the website. If you are looking for peace, renewal, a nurturing treat for the senses and a balm for you nerves, this is the place. Your hosts, Franco and Fateh, make you feel so welcomed it's as if you are guests in their home. Love and peace go into the food, the decor, the ambiance, the hikes, the yoga and the well being of their guests. I came here knowing I'd be disconnected from the media, television, cell phones and other "noise", but I didn't know how easily I would slip into this world and dread the return to the fast pace of my daily life back home. At Waterfall Villas you are serenaded by the natural sounds of waterfalls, birds and frogs. The food is wonderful, your skin glistens from the constant moisturizing effect of the rain forest, your body slows down and says "thank you". Franco led a vigorous hike to the large waterfall, where we swam, meditated and ate a picnic lunch. Fateh led morning Kundalini yoga next to the waterfalls. Dinner among the guests was conducive to warm conversation and bonding over the experience. Both Fateh and Franco are very knowledgeable about Costa Rica, healthy lifestyles, ecology and art, and are very eager to share with you. All tours are arranged by Franco, and are within short taxi rides, as is the beach town of Domenical. You can book this vacation with confidence, knowing you are getting just what you are promised!

I have just returned from a wonderful week at Waterfall Villas. Everything on the web site is completely accurate. The hosts are so very approachable. Fateh is a wonderful yoga leader and Franco is Costa Rica's nature ambassador. Just in case you are wondering, can a guest who is not deeply involved with yoga enjoy their stay. I am stating unequivocally yes! Our Dragonfly room was serene, tastefully decorated, and clean every day upon our return from our days activities. Our meals thoughtfully and healthily presented, and the natural water flowing outside the room was magical. I enjoyed bird watching, the amazing, but rigorous, hike led by Franco to a major waterfall, nearby dolphin watching, and easy trips to local parks and beaches. And when I simply wanted to sit quietly and read by the their falls, I could. It is a different experience, but that is exactly how it is advertised. So...I give WaterFall Villas a complete thumbs up for we went home completely relaxed.

After my week-long stay at Cascadas Farallas, I was on assignment when a coworker who I hadn't seen since before my vacation came up to me and said, "You look great! There's this new energy about you, have you been working out? Something's different..."

It's amazing what a holistic vacation can do for the body and soul, and Cascadas Farallas offers a unique combination of spiritual, romantic, healthy, and exciting options for those looking to get the most from their time off. Cascadas Farallas is by far the most eco-responsible resort I've ever seen, while sacrificing nothing for comfort.

We had some rental car mechanical trouble so we were very late (and stressed!) arriving to the resort, but Franco waited patiently past 10'oclock to make sure we arrived safely. We relaxed immediately upon seeing the flames of the tiki torches, because there's a quiet and calming energy about the whole Villa. I was thrilled to see the balcony view of the jungle, my husband was thrilled to see the air conditioning, and we were both delighted with the steaming hot tub Jacuzzi outside on the balcony of our Jade Spa Villa.

The food is phenomenal! Vacationing is usually stressful for me as a vegan, but there is no need for worry at Cascadas Farallas! My husband is an occasional meat eater, but he was completely in awe of the full sensory palette of vegan courses offered at meals. The gourmet meals helped me get ideas on how to take my vegan cooking to a new level. I learned a lot about advance preparation from Fateh, and have been making use of those techniques at home. We ate wonderfully and actually managed to lose some weight while on vacation. Since our visit, my husband has become a full-fledged vegetarian, and is feeling so much better physically and mentally. At our last meal at the resort, Franco recommended a gorgeous bottle of Chilean wine, which complimented the meal perfectly!

Take advantage of the Kundalini Yoga! It's not only a great workout for the body, it’s a chance to open your mind and re-center your energy. Fateh tailors each lesson to your needs, so even beginners feel comfortable. The conversations with Franco and Fateh are something we will always treasure because we learned so much! They arranged some fantastic spa treatments, and my husband got his massage right by the waterfall on the property.

Speaking of waterfalls, make sure you take the hike with Franco to Nauyaca. It is the most stunning beauty I've ever seen, and we had this popular tourist spot to ourselves because Franco plans your hike to arrive half an hour before the tour groups. We were able to swim in the cool water alone and watch the butterflies in a perfect setting.

Since returning home, these 55 hour work weeks are more bearable. To relax all I have to do is remember the dance of the morpho butterflies as they flitted over Cascadas Farallas during breakfast. Thank you so much for a fantastic visit, we hope to come back soon!

Dear Fateh and Franco,

We arrived in Canada safely. Very little snow on the ground, temperature -7 C. This year winter without much magic, treats us gently.
Our trip from the Cascadas Farallas – Waterfall Villas to the airport in San Hose was great. Your most friendly shuttle driver red our hunger for more sightseeing instantly and stopped at the places of interest or pointed out things like rice fields or oxen pulling the wagon through the grove filled with palm fruits for the palm oil extraction. About 15 km north of Jaco (Carara National Park) we stopped and watched beautiful birds of paradise - scarlet macaws flying high above the forest canopy displaying the beauty of their scarlet red tails and bright blue and yellow wings*
Our next stop was to watch close to a dozen crocodiles basking in the sun on the edge of the Tarcoles River. On the other side of the bridge some fifty meters away thirsty horses were quietly drinking water of the same Tarcoles River. “Crocodiles and horses are friends”, our driver solved my concern. More than 2000 American crocodiles live in the Carara National Park and call the Tarcoles River home. This is the planet's biggest population of these large reptiles and some measure more than 12 feet in length. The name "Carara" is an indigenous term meaning "river of crocodiles". Isabelle, my daughter took a couple of pictures of them, you can see the Costa Rican picture collection on her Face book, see the link below.
We are hungry by now. On the arrival at the San Jose airport a striking reality awaits us. Across from the beautiful Costa Rican gift store a set of SAD American diet food courts and nothing else for a choice. Just in case we have missed the intoxication by fast food cuisine traveling to distant countries. The power of America! Fortunately I stuffed myself with the sun ripened Costa Rican mangoes, papayas and granadillas (passion fruit) I believe is the name while we were driving. Another small example that struck me on the occasion of getting a few souvenirs from the local grocery store in Dominical - French made beautiful organic sugarless jams. Would Costa Rican abundance and richness of sun ripened fruits not provide a better choice? If only the affluent world had a genuine interest in supporting local industries instead of keeping poor being poor.
Isabelle was happy to get herself pearl earrings made by a local Costa Rican artist. She also got a beautiful apron with painted butterflies for me so I can continue on the path of raw food preparations with Costa Rican inspirations from Fateh and Franco.
Fateh’s world fusion organic raw food cuisine inspired by her Peruvian heritage, travels to the East and teachings of the raw food chef Eric Rivkin and much more presents an amazing blend of tropical colours and tastes. The food supply comes from their organic garden, local biodynamic farm, local market and from outsourcing the North American suppliers if needed. Her raw food menu aims at detoxifying, healing and rejuvenation.
All meals prepared with love and the heavenly symphony of cascading waterfalls and singing cicadas in tropical trees and bushes of the pristine environment of their Baru Rainforest’s ECO dream retreat. A true paradise on earth. Just imagine early morning kundalini yoga practice done on the flat rocks beside the waterfall being immersed in this nature music. Or an hour of therapeutic or relaxing massage done on a purpose built wooden platform down the cascading river with the blue sky and the canopy of lush tropical forest above you. Thank you Ananda for superior state of the art massages.
You can spend a day here walking the trails on their 14 acres property with 5 waterfalls, watching colourful tropical Toucans shrieking loudly as they fly in staggered flocks of 3 to 15 individuals. Or you can drive to the Dominical and other pristine beaches within 10 minutes or less driving distance. There are plenty of activities planned for you by the local ECO tourism companies, such as hiking, horse riding, canopy tour or a boat tour to a pristine island designated as a strict nature reserve.
After our early morning yoga session by the waterfall we have our detoxifying nutrient rich coconut drink right from the big coconut fruit. Then all the guests sit to a tropical breakfast consisting of sun ripened Costa Rican fruits such as papayas, mangoes, melons, pineapples and granadillas. That is for the raw foodists. The regular breakfast consisting of fruits and tropical granola with fresh local coffee can also be served.
In the afternoon after our massage sessions we have our live and raw delicious lunch. The afternoon is a free time and all the guests gather for a candlelight dinner in the evening at 6.30pm. The sun sets at 5.30pm and rises at 5.30am. Tropical day and night are of equal length. Darkness falls quickly and daybreak is just as sudden.
All three meals are truly unique and delicious each accompanied by drink of fresh fruit blended with water. A very tasty Costa Rican detox tea is being served at 4 pm.
After dinner and social conversations we retire to our villas for the tropical night sleep.
Three Villas have a look and feel of tropical luxury yet their soul resides in elegant simplicity to be one with nature and sophistication of their Balinese style, attention to details of décor, natural sustainable building materials, and the Feng Shui architecture design. All designed and created by Franco and Fateh with the help of Costa Rican builders.

Big Thank you to Fateh and Franco for creating this beautiful Eco wellness centre and being stewards of Costa Rican very fragile rainforest environment. As a vegan raw foodist, it can be challenging to find exotic travel destinations to easily accommodate needs, let alone be able to find personalized, quality and customized services that cater to varying lifestyles and desires. Having the satisfaction and peace of mind that you can eat, relax and play without concerns for how to create the experience you want is priceless. Since exotic travel can be difficult for enjoying raw cuisine, it is nice to know that one can still have a great adventure getaway in tropical bliss while enjoying a dietary feast of choice. Costa Rica offers all of this and Dominical's Waterfall Villas, sitting on a 14 acre tropical Baru Rainforest property, is a fulfilling gem-of-a-find to create that perfect getaway at affordable luxury prices.

Waterfall Villas is an exclusive, eco-lodge retreat specializing in personalized services, custom packages and organic raw, vegan and vegetarian cuisine healing journeys. Located just ten minutes drive from Dominical Beach Town and within thirty minutes drive to five National Parks, this boutique wellness and romantic getaway resort offers relaxing, green lodging amidst an exotic rainforest canopy and your own private waterfalls.

Tropical Bali-style inspired architecture and Feng Shui permeates this garden paradise that was created from the dream to "bring the garden into the house" and to offer its casual luxury as a home-away-from-home to all those who enter this welcoming abode. Complete with onsite waterfalls, hiking trails, koi pond fountain and open space to breathe in the lush, fresh rainforest scents and sights, this sanctuary has beautifully and consciously been built to take advantage of its surroundings while simultaneously conserving nature. Whether you come to relax, play, detox, rejuvenate, luxuriate or romance, you will find something fittingly pampering to quench your every delight.

Fateh is Waterfall Villas' private chef, Kundalini Yoga instructor, meditation facilitator, and artist. She and her husband, Franco, graciously invite you into their beautiful retreat creation making you feel at home from the moment you step foot on the premises. Tea, full breakfast spreads, yoga and meditations are included as daily optional offerings and an array of spa packages, cooking classes, adventure and local activities can be easily custom-created to suit your whim. Raw, vegan and vegetarian dinners can be added to your package at your request to fit any dietary needs of which most of the produce comes direct from the couple's nearby organic farm. You will delight in the savory, tropical fusion of eclectic world recipes with each three-course dinner journey you embark on.

Nothing beats the exquisite, personal and gourmet experience you can have right at your fingertips, which makes returning back in the evening to your home-retreat, a rewarding must-do. After a long day of fun, exploring or simply relaxing, unwind and relax as Fateh and her staff pamper your taste buds with a culinary palette to die for.

What more can be said? The choices are unlimited, including white water rafting, zip lining in the canopies, horseback riding to the falls or beaches, kayaking, surfing, dolphin and whale watching, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking to discover the rainbow of wildlife, yoga, meditating, massages, soaking in the jacuzzi and more. Not only can one experience an array of daily activities or relaxations to explore, but the food alone is a journey into discovery. Being a vegan raw foodist never looked so good! Now you can finally have it all.
