A fab little hotel and hideaway in beautiful surroundings with own private clean beach. Gorgeous reception & dining area with sea life painted on the walls. Staff were friendly, super helpful & even managed to get us a private transfer to our next location despite it being really short notice and Christmas holidays. Wifi access in the reception & dining area only.

We stayed in apartment 7 which was fab. Quirky art painted on the walls, comfortable beds & great shower. A wonderful little terrace too. Superb air conditioning which cooled room perfectly and was quiet enough to leave on all night. No safe but rooms very secure. Please note no wifi in rooms.

We dined in their restaurant one evening and the food was great, fresh and well prepared. Highly recommend the tuna steak. Breakfast is included in the room rate and was lovely although there were only two choices and no flexibility with these. One thing I would say is that it's a little mean to only allow coffee or juice in the morning but not both and only one glass of juice. Would prefer to pay slightly more on room rate and be able to have both drinks with breakfast and no limit on the amount of drinks.

Perfect location for exploring Dominical as its very near main beach and all the bars & restaurants at approx 20 mins leisurely walk along the beach.

Word of warning the sea at Dominical is rough and wild hence making it a favourite for surfers who love the waves. Be careful of rip tides and currents when swimming here.

All in all a perfect spot and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommend it.

After confirming my stay over the phone the day before, we got to the hotel and the reservation was not on the manual book they handle. After a while they offered us the same rooms with a higher price than what we had reserved for.
Staff was not welcoming and made us feel as if we had done everything wrong. Ended up looking for another place.

We came for a week long vacation in August and were blown away by the hospitality and experience that we had here. Roca Verde is a semi-undiscovered gem with a gorgeous private beach, artistic and quaint rooms, PHENOMENAL food, and an all around 5 star experience. The staff is very accommodating and they all seem to work together to make the guest experience as positive as possible. The food is second to none, and is admittedly one of the main reasons we rate this 5 stars! There is not a single disappointment on the menu, and the staff always provides great suggestions. Roca Verde is a quiet and relaxing place almost always, and if you're looking for excitement, the live music on Saturday nights is a great time. If you want an authentic Costa Rican experience, free of tourist traps and headaches, Roca Verde is the spot. There are plenty of outdoor activities in the surrounding area like hiking, zip lining, surfing, horseback riding, and more. Mostly, we spent our time in the cool, fresh pool adjacent to the restaurant. We have no complaints, and would absolutely choose to stay here again! Roca Verde really does exceed expectations, and goes above and beyond to make the stay wonderful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor, closest to the restaurant if you want a good wifi connection!

We came for the view and stayed for the farm and friendliness of the staff. What normally would have only been a brief vacation visit turned into us dining and drinking on multiple visits. The food is priced far far lower than the quality. We tried almost everything on the menu and were never disappointed. The drinks were cold and Juan kept them coming. We are sad that in a few days we will be thousands of miles away from this beach oasis. Thank you for treating us so well. Hope to see you again soon.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. The rooms are basic but clean and the A/C works well, and although there are no safes in the rooms we had no issues with security. The hotel is just out of town so great if you want to get away from the busy centre but a bit of a walk every time you want to go out for a meal and don't have a car. As others have said take a torch if walking back at night. We have to give a special mention to the Michael and the restaurant staff for going out of their way to provide us with a delicious breakfast when we got up very early for a diving trip and again on a Monday morning despite the restaurant being closed, honouring the 'breakfast included' deal!
