The sushi here is absolutely incredible. I was very skeptical about getting good sushi in Costa Rica, but man this place proved me wrong. It is a small restaurant, which I think explains why it's so good in both food and service. If you are coming with a family, I would recommend getting the mixed sushi plate. It comes with 40 pieces and you can mix and match the selection with their speciality rolls. All you will have to pay is the difference the special roll substitution is, and believe me it's not as expensive as you might think for a sushi restaurant.

Great restaurant and even better food.

“Sushi in Costa Rica ...who would have thought.”
Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

Something you would not expect in Dominical. ..but why not the catch is right at the shores. Fresh sushi and the relaxing atmosphere with a surfer vibe. By far the best we have ever had. Prices are even better!

“Pura Vida at it Best!!”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

If sushi is your thing then get yourselves over to Dominical sushi and enjoy a taste sensation like no other. Jota and his wife Rocio are living legends in Dominical for the quality of their food and the effort they go too to make your evening a real treat and Pura Vida at its best. Every one talks about this restaurant as one of their hightlights in Costa Rica. You will not be dissappointed!! Five star food on the edge of the jungle.

“Don't Miss Dominical Sushi!!”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

When in the Costa Ballena on Costa Rica's southern Pacific Coast, don't miss Dominical Sushi. The owners, Jota and Rocio are more than hospitable. The food is delicious and the presentation is stellar.

The ingredients were fresh, fresh, fresh. Rocio is the sushi chef and Jota handles the front of the house. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming.

They add a tropical Tico twist to their menu taking advantage of the great selection of fruits and vegetables growing there. They use avocado, mango, ripe plantains, and fruit reduction and soy glazes that work really well with the unusual ingredients.

Pricing is very reasonable and portions are generous. This place is a keeper!
