“Relaxed”
Reviewed August 2, 2014

We went on Friday evening and enjoyed the live band. This is a cover band (that definitely already plays for decades) doing nice Rock and Roll songs.
And the food is probably one of the best in Dominical.

“Get the Mahi Special!”
Reviewed July 29, 2014

We treat Roca Verde as an extension of our kitchen, except that the food is generally better than what we can cook at very reasonable prices. Specifically, the Mahi special is an excellent piece of fish, quite thick, and cooked to perfection. The slightly spicy and sweet sauce which accompanies it is delicious. We also sampled the Chicken Parmesan, which seems like an odd thing to order in a Costa Rican restaurant, but it was generous and delicious.

Our kids dined on the pizza, which is inexpensive and very good, as well as having the normal burgers and chicken fingers. Everyone thought the meal was exceptional, and the margaritas contributed their own special addition to our enjoyment.

“Came for the live music”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

We were introduced to this restaurant by the owner of Coconut Grove Cabins who plays in the band that was performing the night we were there. I am not a huge fan of bands but these talented people are not just some basement variety they are professional studio musicians from the US who are now living the Pura Vida life. You can immediately tell the difference in quality and I enjoyed the evening very much. As for the food, we ordered pizza for about $12 and it was pretty good. They have some higher end stuff that is supposed to be very good as well. The menu is quite limited and I found that there was really nothing on it that appealed to me, hence the pizza. Go on live music night, its worth it.

“Good pizza”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

Stopped by a couple of times. One time it was closed the owner started telling us we should have stayed in a hotel...we had rented a house...the place looked dumpy, beside a main road overlooking the parking lot. Not sure what his point was, but despite his lack of understanding of tourism we returned for take-out pizza which was pretty good. Restaurant always looked a bit empty and depressing. Pizza was overpriced but really pretty good. So fine by me, was lazy and ordered it twice. Wouldn't have wanted to eat there though, maybe the owner managed to affect my choices after all. Food was fine, hotel looked questionable, best for those who don't research their choices.
