“Unexpected Surprise ”
Reviewed May 9, 2014 via mobile

I went to La Parcela on a whim while in the area. I was happy with the food, and the drinks are top-notch (try the Guaro sour) and of course the view is spectacular. But the absolute best part is the monkeys who visit every day. While paying the bill, I looked up to see a capuchin in the corner checking himself out in the mirror. Next thing I knew, one of the employees went inside the kitchen to grab a handful of bananas. They have a system of bamboo 'walkways' rigged up on one side of the restaurant (away from tables and safer for them) so that the monkeys can come and enjoy a banana or two. I was deeply impressed with how the staff treated these monkeys with such love. I was also impressed with how this monkey encounter is unadvertised and unexploited. This place is a GEM. You have to go.

“Dramatic and delicious!”
Reviewed May 3, 2014 via mobile

A more spectacular setting is hard to imagine! Surrounded by rain forest and perched on a slope with magnificent views to Pacific coastline on both sides of this open air restaurant! Wow! My frozen Margarita was so-so, but the others in my group were fine with whiskeys and beers. My blackened tuna was delicious with a fresh mango sauce, delicious sautéed veggies, and rice. A violent thunderstorm passed over us as we dined and we needed to change tables 3 times due to the leaky roof. Such is life in the tropics :) Oh,, and a White-faced Monkey dropped in running down the balcony railing. Drama and deliciousness! I would definitely go back if I happened to be in Dominical, Costa Rica!

“Fresh fish. Killer views”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

Super cool spot for a sunset meal. AWESOME views to the north and south. We've been a few times now and has been great every time.
Had the whole fried fish special "Jamaican Style" and it was really good. My wife had the arroz con mariscos and it was huge and really fresh. Good huge portion of clams for appetizer was also delish. Tuna tartare was just ok. Great fish, but kinda funky with lots of onions, garlic, & ginger.
Attentive staff, cold beer, pretty deec wine selection as well.
Pretty awesome to get there an hour or so before sunset and watch the jungle change color as the sun drops.

“Eating in paradise”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

This is the perfect place to eat seafood. Great ocean views on two sides of the restaurant. The best bet is seafood here. Meat was not so great. The waiter was very nice and helpful. The cabins next to restaurant are simple but lovely.

“Amazing views, ok food, but not so great cabins”
Reviewed March 27, 2014 via mobile

The view from the restaurant and the cabins is spectacular. The food is OK and decently priced...the blackened tuna was very nice. Also, staff is friendly and there is nighttime security.

The rooms. Rooms are rather unkept, with loose tiles in the bathroom, jammed windows, a dodgy smell coming from the shower drain, and stained ceilings. But on the bright side there is a small fridge, a desk, ok mattresses, a front deck with unique views, there is A/C but it is not necessary (specially if you want to hear the nature) if you use the fan and open all the windows (they have bug screens), and the price is right...I wouldn't pay more. Oh and you can see capuchin monkeys right out of your cabin.

The beach is nice and lonely...better than Dominical which feels too touristy.

I would certainly go back.
