We loved our tour to the Nauyaca Falls. Horses were good tempered, waterfalls beautiful, food simple but delicious. You can swim in the waterfall if you like cold water and strong current :0). Our kids enjoyed climbing on the rock under the falls and then jumping off of it. I did not dare. Even our four year old loved riding her horse.

“This isn't your typical Gatlinburg horseback riding tour....”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

This was a great day. We had 4 adults in our group some with more riding experience than others, but we have all been on a horse before. They all seemed mostly well taken care of. We went on a pretty busy day, and due to that, it seemed like they left the docile horses for a group that had several young children. We were in the first set to head out, and I have to say our horses acted a little wild. This was not trudging along single file kind of a ride that you experience in the US when you do this sort of thing.. The horses had competitions over being pack leader and sometimes the horses would just bolt to get ahead. It was clear some horses liked to be near other ones and would push through the group to other horse's annoyance. Occasionally a horse would kick the horse behind it that was being kinda bitey which was kind of scary for both riders. But they trotted and sometimes cantered, and while most of us really enjoyed it there were a couple people that were not stoked at being treated like a sack of potatoes. The scenery on the way up and back was really beautiful. We must have appeared to know what we were doing, because the guides mostly left us alone and focused on a big family that was with us in our set. Though, they all seemed friendly enough. Also the food was really tastey.

The waterfall was AMAZING. We went on a Saturday after it had rained the whole day before, so the water was pretty high. It is a bit of a hike with plenty of stairs down to the swimming area for those of us that have trouble getting around. Only a couple of people were brave enough to jump off the fall, including a girl from my group that said it was awesome. (the water was extra powerful because of all the rain). There is a changing area near the fall to get into a swimsuit and get back in dry clothes after, so I would suggest taking a backpack.

Overall it was an excellent trip and we felt pretty adventourus afterward. Also, you couldn't really beat the price for a day excursion that includes two meals.

This place is full of great landscapes and is an incredible experience. You begin by receiving a horse and making your way up to where you're served delicious fruits and coffee. Then you get to go see the unbelievable waterfalls. I've never seen a sight like this place offers. Doing flips on the waterfalls is permitted so that's a potential thrill. Also, the lunch when you return is awesome. We had chicken, potatoes, rice, bean, and some amazing cornbread. I miss my horse, Olaya, already.

“Really really fun experience”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

$60 for everything....! Included a horseback ride up to the falls, included a nice breakfast on the way up, and a delicious lunch on the way back down. They definitely give you enough time to enjoy the waterfall, go swimming or just hang out. I am a lover of waterfalls, and this is one of the best ones I've visited. The waterfall was very full, and powerful, but the locals come up there and jump off the falls, and even brought out an innertube on a rope to help you get under the waterfall and up on the rocks in case you want to jump off the falls too. I didn't do that, but a lot of people did. There's also some rocks to the right of the falls that are only about 8 feet high that you can jump off. The horses were a lot of fun...and some of the horses, including mine, liked to be in the front and would push their way to the front. I highly recommend this activity. We stayed in Quepos and it took approximately one hour to drive there to be there by 8am. Was a nice drive, and no problem getting there. 3 of the peeps in our group hiked up to the waterfalls, and that cost them $5 for entrance fees. It's about a 2 1/2 mile hike up.

“Awesome Horseback Tour”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

This was my husbands first time on a horse. The guides were super nice and helpful and the food was INCREDIBLE. The only complaint was the terrain was a little muddy but we went during the rainy season so.... But I would still highly recommend this to anyone near Dominical.
