“Amazing Adventure!”
Reviewed February 27, 2013 via mobile

While a little difficult to find at first, the horseback tour was phenomenal. Make sure to bring your car, however, as after paying at the office you must drive down steep roads to where the horses are. We were dropped off, but were lucky to make friends that offered us a ride.

There were riders of all experience levels and the guides did a good job of making sure everyone was matched with the appropriate horse.

Arriving at the falls was breathtaking. They are huge and well worth the trek in the heat. Swimming in the cold pool and sitting in the falls was the ultimate reward. Just be careful as the rocks are slippery, bring water shoes if you can.

Lunch on the way back was delicious and we had some of the best coffee in the world in the middle of the jungle!

For the $60 price, this was well worth it. I highly recommend it to anyone wan to see the falls. They are a must see while in the area!

“Amazing waterfall”
Reviewed February 23, 2013 via mobile

We got a cab ride to the entrance paid the $5 fee, got our ticket and then hiked down to the waterfall ourselves without any tour or guide. Doing the was inexpensive and we didn't run into any difficulties doing it in our own. The hike is about an hour and a half both ways and is probably an intermediate hike. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who's not in shape, especially with the heat it can be difficult at times. The falls are fantastic and the swimming hole was very refreshing after the hike. Unfortunately we arrived at the same time as a horse back tour which made it crowded and hard to take pictures but they were only there for an hour or so, so we just waited it out and after they were gone there were only about eight other people there and I was very peaceful and relaxing. Definitely recommend these falls!

“Unforgettable Day”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

As you can see from previous posts and photos, this just might be the highlight of you're trip to this area. The only issue I had was with those who are on the trip wearing shorts and sandels.
Human skin against a leather saddle wears out pretty quickly, especially on the way back after you've gotten soaked from swimming. The inside of your legs will pay a price. Also, please follow their instruction and at least wear sneakers. Not only are they more stable when riding, but when you get to the waterfalls you will be messing around on the surrounding rocks and they can be very slippery. I watched a guy take a nasty tumble and slide into other rocks cause he was wearing his flip flops. Don't worry about getting hot with more clothing. Most of the ride is through the shady forest and the horse is doing all the work. You will have a day to remember so please set your self up for the best outcome. I will not go back to this region without going on this trip again.

“A great adventure”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

The Nauyaca Waterfalls - Horseback Tours adventure is a must do when visiting the Dominical area. We had a great day riding the countryside of Nauyaca valley enjoying the local flora and fauna. We had the opportunity to see monkeys, toucans and macaws close up. In addition to horseback riding, the price included breakfast and lunch at a quaint outdoor restaurant set in a hillside (with washroom facilities and plenty of drinking water), and an hour or more swimming/climbing at the Nauyaca waterfalls. Thoroughly enjoyed the adventure.

“Skip the horses, just hike”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

You can take a car up the road from Dominical and pay $5 to hike in to the falls. It is a long hike, about 10k, but rewarding and fun. We left late in the day and had the place to ourselves. Bring a headlamp if you are returning late.
