WOW... The hotel manager MADIE is a rock Star. She made everything better. More people in the customer service field should take lessons from her. What an asset to the company!!!!

She worked for us. She took the time and made the effort to turn everything around for my wife and I .

THANK YOU MADIE... We are looking forward to another stay at the grand hotel.

We traveled 4 hours to get to the hotel to find out the internet was down and the front fesk girl refused to check us in or accomodate us in anyway.
She said our card was going to be charged anyway regardless if we stayed there or not. There was another couple in the lobby trying to check out with pictures of thier room that was FILTHY.
Again the front desk girl was of no help and so RUDE.

We had to find another hotel and pay extra money. There still has not been any response from the hotel.

Find another place to stay.! The public restroom that I had to use was also FILTHY.. Shannon and dave Fisher

Dear Sharon and Dave:

I was very happy to hear that the GM contacted you on July 15 by phone to discuss this matter with you and straighten out some of the issues you had . I understand that she also informed you that because you booked our hotel through Expedia, it was that company which was charging your card, rather than us personally, and that you would need to go through them for a refund, as we have no authority there.

We were happy to extend you a comped weekend for your trouble, and were pleased to work with you. We hope you were equally pleased with our service to you.

Sincerely,

Angela Durrell

My wife and I were to stay here when it was a Holiday Inn Express hotel but it had changed to The Tombstone Grand Hotel by the time we actually visited the area. It has a nice Southwestern decor and a pool and spa which is great after a day of touring the historic western mining town of Tombstone where Wyatt Earp and brothers and Doc Holiday fought it out with the Clanton gang at the OK Corral.
This is a two story hotel with no elevator! So we asked for a first level room as we did not feel like dragging our suitcases up a flight of stairs. The room had a small refrigerator and coffee maker, etc.
Behind the front desk on the wall was a framed print of an old Army recruitment poster for the Buffalo Soliders of Fort Huachuca of 1877. I asked the front desk staff about it as I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca when I was 19 while training at the Army Intelligence School. They told me that a local artist (Bill Roman) sold prints of this painting and would sign and drop one off at the front desk that day. So for $10.00 I purchased a signed print and now have it hanging in a rustic frame in my home office!
We met the General Manager Madie Wunrow and she was very nice and ensured that we enjoyed our stay which was only one night. We did enjoy our stay we would recommend this hotel as it seems fairly new and offers a complimentary continental breakfast. I recommend to ask for a ground floor room if you do not want to haul luggage, etc. up and down a stairs.
One can easily stay two days in the Tombstone area to see everything and don't forget to drive to higher elevation and the historic copper mining town of Bisbee,AZ (about 25 miles southeast) to check out the antique and artist shops and dining options.

Room Tip: Choose an East facing room in the Summer and the first floor unless you want to carry luggage and co...

We visit Tombstone every summer and will not stay at any other hotel. The Tombstone Grand Hotel is phenomenally clean and the amenities are fabulous. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This year they added many more activities; e.g. a beautiful fire pit with seats around it, a gazebo, fresh baked cookies every night, evening activies in the breakfast room for all guests, and shuttle service to town, just to name a few, with more to come. The pool and jacuzzie are clean and well maintained. The comlimentary breakfast is a huge bonus and offers a wide selection to suit everyone to include my personal favorite, cappiccino. The views from all rooms are awesome! The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. You couldn't ask for a better hotel. The Tombstone Grand Hotel truly lives up to its name!
