“Big Nose Kate's 1880s Ball & Buffett The treasure of our Trip”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

We have had the honor and privilege to be invited to the 1880s Ball & Buffet. This was the event of a lifetime! Not only where you whisked away to the past as you stepped in the door, you truly felt you were back in time enjoying the gambling along with a fantastic meal that was fit for Kings and Queens. Then the ultimate highlight of the night was meeting Ms. Joanna Pacula, Big Nose Kate, from the Tombstone movie. It was easy for any Cowboy to fall in love with her, she just has a beauty and charm that no man could resist. Big Nose Kate's Ball will live in our hearts and memories forever. All of Tombstone is a precious chapter in the history of America. This town is one American treasure that no one should miss. We can not wait until our next trip.

“Good Music”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Hubby and I needed lunch before the Wyatt Earp Theatre, and had hoped to eat at the Cafe Margarita, but found that establishment closed. Instead we ended up at the campy tourist restaurant, Big Nose Kate's. Presumably this is named after the famous girlfriend of Doc Holiday.

I was looking for some serious Mexican/Southwest food, and did not find any here. Surprisingly, the items on the menu which were showcased was a Ruben Grill. A Ruben Grill in Tombstone?? We started with fried zucchini (fried zucchini in Tombstone??) which was the winner to hit the table. My Ruben was so-so, and Hubby's chicken club (chicken club in Tombstone???) was just "ok" also.

The wait staff are dressed up in period clothing. Well, most of them are. The third star, above, is for the entertainment. Two guys on guitars and pretty good voice supply entertainment during lunch.

We wish Cafe Margarita had been open.
