“Nice atmosphere, lousy food”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

This saloon caters to tourists. If you want to be waited on by women wearing low-neckline blouses with dollar bills sticking out of their cleavage, this is the place. Era-costumed locals can be found here at the bar and their stories of how they came to this place are often interesting. Sometimes the live music is good, at other times it's loud and obnoxious.

But the food in all the times I have been here has never been better than average. At my most recent visit I had a calzone that was gooey inside and it didn't even come with marinara sauce.

“Good food, dreadful music!”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

We had lunch at Big Nose Kate's last week. Food was good and waitress pleasant and attentive. The old bar is lovely. The only downside was the musician, the singing was dreadful, he could not seem to find the right key for any song!

“Great time to be had here!”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

We hadn't planned to have a drink here but when we saw the fantastic, authentic Victorian interior of this historic saloon we felt compelled to enter as it was so exquisitely decorated and unarguably historic.
We were pleasantly surprised to be received by genuinely nice , friendly bartenders who patiently recounted the history of the saloon and the hotel which used to be frequented by the wealthy visitors to Tombstone in a bygone era.
Great, funnily named cocktails ( 'screaming orgasm' was one!) and local beers.

“Fun Place!”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

I wish I could rate this place higher. The atmosphere was awesome! A lot of extras and totally fun for a tourist trap. Authentic. The bar is beautiful and the dressings maintained well. A little run down, but truly authentic would probably mean darn near trashed. The wenches wear period costumes and they are quite friendly.

The food is good. Basic and frozen, so it really isn't much to write home (or to the reading public) about. I had a burger and it was just barely average. Frozen, cookie cutter patties don't "trigger" anything with me, but at least they were the good kind. The fries were seasoned nicely. They did try to give an interesting variety to their burger and corps menu, but fell short on the quality. Would have been better to serve just plain good food. It was quite pricey (paying for the ambience), so I couldn't give it a better rating.

Suggestion for the owner/operators: Either go big or go home. The town needed cleaned up and it took raw nerve and bullets to do it. Take the dive and cook gourmet, or break with the usual around town and serve basic solid food. This half in, half out thing doesn't work on either side. Kinda being in a gunfight gave the same result as shootin' the place up. You either got them or they got you. The fare there is the same idea. If you make it one way or another, you'll get the best draw. The competition won't like being shot down, but they'll buck up or run yella.

I would recommend going in and getting a cold beer, maybe some appetizers. Enjoy yourself and amble out. Get lunch in Tuscon.

“Great bar!”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Live music, good food and one of the oldest bars in Tombstone. Very interesting place. Ask the bartenders the history of the bar and they'll tell you.
