Owner description: Welcome to the Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park. Built in 1882 in the shape of a Greek cross, this two-story Victorian structure once housed the offices of the Sheriff, Recorder, Treasurer, Board of Supervisors, Jail, and Courtrooms of Cochise County. Today this 12,000 sq.Ft. Courthouse is a museum filled with the glitter and guns of those who tamed the territory. The park includes a museum, exhibits, a gift shop, restrooms and shaded picnic areas. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Cash. Museum is open daily from 9:00am- 5:00pm. Stop in for an interesting tour and/or the perfect gift!

This is a State Park - and well done. You do have to pay to see the displays inside. It is 2 stories. It covers not only the courthouse history but also local history, clothing from the period, the gallows in the back, a video of a famous court case, etc.

We are from California and the courtroom there reminded us of our fun historic courthouse at home.

I agree with other writers, really didn't want to go here, ho hum boring, but the museum is REALLY COOL! There are a lot of exhibits, jail stuff, Wyatt Earp history, saloon girl stuff, displays, it just has a lot to see and we all found it very worth while. Don't balk at the admission price. It is worth it! Can't say that of many other sights in Tombstone but this was definitely a great visit!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff at the door collecting the small admittance fee. Bright displays with wonderful photos, antiques and written information. A lovely way to spend an hour or two learning about history.

Another one I can check off my bucket list. This was a wonderful piece of real history just a block away from the world of "make believe" that has become Tombstone. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire museum, but my favorite part was the video presentation of a historic trial that was held in this very courtroom. The video (although actors were used) was presented in a realistic manner. The building itself has been wonderfully restored. I wish they had sold a cd of player piano music in the gift shop, I loved the music coming from the music room.

Nice little museum with very nice volunteers. Good place to understand Tombstone History. Good for about an hour if you like to read informational exhibits.
