“Excellent Hotel!”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

So the weather is not ideal in Arizona in the summer but knowing your hotel is awesome helps! I stayed here for a symposium in June for 2 1/2 days and everything was truly great. The hotel was beautiful, the food during the conference was great, the "snack Shacks" were a great idea, the pool big enough (without kids around at least) and the location was good. HIghly recommended!

Room Tip: I asked for a room with a view and got one overlooking the pool on the 4th floor. I was afraid it wo...

Attended a 3 day symposium at this beautiful property. The accommodations were clean and comfortable; the food was delicious and abundant....especially the snack shacks during our break times. And the staff was friendly and helpful. The location is perfect as there are many great restaurants within walking distance.

I attended Tempe Mission Palms for a conference this past weekend. The customer service really needs improvement. We waited more than 1 hour in the 100 degree plus temperature for the hotel shuttle to pick us up at the airport. We called three times since we never saw the shuttle but after the third call the we were given the correct information on where to meet the shuttle at the airport. The person who answered the first two calls was rude and had an attitude once we told her that we were still waiting for the shuttle. The person at the front desk was not helpful and even though we reserved our reservation months in advance, we did not get the room type that was requested. We had two complimentary drink vouchers attached to our paperwork, but the person registering us took them off the paperwork and when I ask for them back he answered with a sarcastic comment, not what we wanted to hear after the shuttle situation. The hotel and the rooms were very nice and clean and the bed was comfortable but the pillows were lumpy and not comfortable. As a frequent traveler it seems as though the worse and most noticeable complaint was the poor customer service of some of the staff.

Dear m g,
Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent visit to Tempe Mission Palms. We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you again the next time you are in Tempe.
We were concerned to hear about your experience with our front desk and shuttle van operators. We would like to take this opportunity to apologize for their behavior, as it is not the way we typically take care of our guests. We have discussed the topics with the employees in these areas and have implemented some additional training specifically in the areas of "Exceptional Customer Service" and "Problem Resolution and Service Recovery". We know that does not change your experience but we hope that you can feel confident that we heard your concern and are definitely doing something about it. Thank you again for you review, and honest feedback.

My love of Tempe Mission Palms began when my son became a student at ASU in August of 2003, and it has progressed to my son and his bride having their "first look" on their wedding day, March 9, 2013. The location is perfect, walking distance to Sun Devil Stadium, all the eateries and shops on Mill Avenue and to campus. The hotel is gorgeous, the staff is outstanding, accommodating and understanding of all your needs. The food is delectable from breakfast to midnight snacks, it will not disappoint, and they will go out of their way to cater to your every need, big or small! The rooftop pool is fabulous with food and beverage service, hot tub, a view of A mountain and all the hikers. You could be happy if you never left the hotel - sort of like a cruise ship on the ground! To backtrack, we had a very traumatic incident upon arrival to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport which involved my father being rushed to the hospital following a cardiac arrest and revival, and upon check-in the hotel was so helpful, compassionate, understanding and accommodating in assisting us with trips to St. Luke's Hospital and our extra stay room accommodations, we are forever grateful to them. The happy ending is my father -- the bride and groom's grandfather -- was released from the hospital and able to spend several extra days at Tempe Mission Palms and precious time with them and our family. I have always loved this hotel but now it holds a forever special place in my heart! This is a top-notch hotel which sells out early because of its many amenities, so plan ahead. The value far exceeds the price - worth every penny!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the courtyard are fabulous!

The staff at Tempe Mission Palms was the most accommodating experience that I have encountered in a very long time. Each time you entered the hotel, you were treated as if it were your first visit. Excellent shuttle service to and from the airport, and various places of interest. The pool was always clean and the room was always clean. Great location to local restaurants of every cuisine. Will I go back? ABSOLUTELY!

Rooms are spacious and comfy -- nicely decorated. Big hotel, good service. Nice pool, small fitness center. Expected more of a fitness facility given how hot the climate is in the summer (you would have to workout indoors)! Nice outdoor terrace area adjacent to lobby. Short walking distance to many good restaurants in downtown Tempe.

I stayed at this hotel for a gaming convention and was very impressed. The rooms are very nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff was courteous. The food at the restaurants for breakfast and dinner was excellent. The fitness center was excellent too. I did not use the pool but it looked very nice. The hotel is also conveniently located near the airport in the center of Tempe.
